If you don't already know, BreitBarth.com is great for your he campaign headquarters. If you want to know what is going on around the country, especially uh with the elections that we had last night, we are uh blessed to have Katherine Hamilton joining us. She's a political reporter at Breitbart.com. Good morning.
SPEAKER_01Good morning, Liz. Thank you so much for having me.
SPEAKER_00Well, thank you for joining us. So uh we saw that one of our favorites, Byron Donald, uh, won the primary yesterday. So maybe uh we can start in Florida about tur uh people are saying that uh that that Florida had the potential to turn very purple because of a lot of people relocating there from liberal cities. But um others are saying that this uh election proves that it is as red as it can be.
SPEAKER_01You know, I actually lived in Florida during the pandemic. I live in Georgia now, pretty close to Florida still. But my experience there was that the people that were coming from blue states were very much Republicans in blue states, and they fled down to Free Florida when everybody was forcefully masked up in blue states and things like that. And you know, we still had that corporate enforcement of the masks and and just how terrible that time was. But uh people people sought refuge in Florida and they didn't they didn't turn the state blue. And what we've seen now after this primary, I mean, GOP voters in Florida outnumber uh Democrats registered in the state by 1.5 million. So that's solidly red, and it doesn't seem like it's changing anytime soon.
SPEAKER_00And in your case in Florida, well, was in your case in Florida, it seems that um it is truly red. Whereas in South Carolina, we have a washed out red. A lot of people like to say we're deep red, but um I think it's uh rhinoism and um you know these Democrats are uh right around the corner. We have to be careful here.
SPEAKER_01For sure. And I've noticed that in Georgia as well, that there's it's definitely purple here. And it really depends on if you have more America for SAGA type Republicans or you have those Rhino establishment Republicans that are more willing to kind of work and be a little slimy with Democrats, and that doesn't really help anybody on our side.
SPEAKER_00What happened in Byron Donald's district? Um, you know, we had heard that Matthew Cawthorn moved down there, uh, but he finished like third or something like that. Um what happened in that district in the Naples area?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so actually Naples is where I'm from originally. Um and Byron Donald is a great congressman there uh along with his wife doing so many great educational things. Um but Trump actually backed Catalina Loss, and she didn't end up winning. Actually, it was uh Jim Schwartz, well he's a media mogul, local to the area, and he ended up beating her for the primary, and now he's gonna face the Victor area.
SPEAKER_00Ah, okay. So uh he's original from there, and you said is that what you said? Because um there was something a lot of talk about uh uh people traveling there, like Matthew Cawthorn did after um he was pushed out in North Carolina trying to establish themselves in a new political, you know, class in certain key districts. So that was a a real big pushback, I guess, as well. Then, right? That was a against uh uh a Trump-backed candidate, you said.
SPEAKER_01Right. And I think it I think in the age of social media, you know, voters can see politicians moving that way, moving districts, trying to, you know, go somewhere that maybe would better suit them or would vote for them. But most people who are especially activated in midterm elections are going to want somebody that knows the area, knows the local issues, and has their best interest in mind. And that's why I think somebody like Jim Schwartzel would beat out even the Trump Act candidate in this case, because he would have the interest of that area. Also, I would say the Collier County Naples area is a is a wealthy area. Um, a lot of interest there, a lot of new media starting up there um in the conservative realm. So somebody like Schwartzl is gonna have a little bit more pool there.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Interesting. Uh, what's the next race we should be paying attention to? Um, we were showing um uh other other uh races that had elections yesterday.
SPEAKER_01Um well, one also out of Florida that I think is really significant is that Senator Ashley Moody won her, um, she's the incumbent right now. She took the place of Sen of Marco Rubio when he went to become Secretary of State. But she is the GOP nominee for that role. But she's gonna be facing off against a DSA, that's a Democrat socialist candidate Angie Nixon. Um so Republicans are feeling pretty hopeful. I mean, as soon as as soon as she won that, I believe it was kind of it was kind of marked as like Moody is gonna win that race because we have 1.5 million more Republicans in the state of Florida. Now we have Moody versus a socialist, and we have socialists really trying to grip grip the Democrat Party and take over the party. You know, and in Florida, there are a lot of immigrants, especially that have come there from socialist places. They're not going to be interested in somebody like Nick.
SPEAKER_00No, no, not at all. Um, what stood out to you in uh Byron Donald's ex ex uh acceptance speech or victory speech last night? I I I thought it was very inspiring, actually.
SPEAKER_01You know, I actually didn't get the chance to catch um his victory speech last night. Yeah, I thought it was great. I've met Byron Donald personally uh and interviewed him a few times. And what I will say is that he is very, very strong on the issues. He is very good at communicating to voters. Um, you know, he was up against you know, Lieutenant Jay Collins, but some people wanted him to kind of continue along with DeSantis' legacy. And then you had James Fishback who was running kind of an odd campaign, but he had a certain niche that was interested in him. Um but Byron Donald has really spent a lot of time building his reputation both locally and in DC. Um and so I I think that's ultimately why he won. Plus, he had the endorsement of Donald Trump, and that still holds a lot of water.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And uh one of the other you you were mentioning Nixon. Uh uh Nick, I don't know if you remember that guy, Vin Vinman. But she she bet she beat him.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that pasty looking guy.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_03The never Trumper.
SPEAKER_00Um so what does that mean uh in that race? Just to go back to that. Did you say that that was Marco Rubio's seat? Is Yes. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and Senator Ashton Moody was nominated to it to take over when he took his position, and then she's running to keep it again. Um, so I mean Venoman, he kind of capitalized off of his moment there of criticizing Trump, and he was able to raise a ton of money. I mean, he massively outspent. I don't have the numbers right in front of me, but I I don't know, was it 36 to 1 or 16 to 1? I saw something that it was like crazy amount of money and ads that were put out, and Nixon still won. So, I mean, it does show a certain Democrat interest in in socialist candidates. We have been seeing more, more socialist candidates getting attention and things like that. In Florida. I mean, it's definitely not it's not a good sign, but I don't know how much success she will have in Florida um in November. But I mean it remains to me seen, but that's my opinion.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, that's kind of interesting that socialists are making headway in Florida. That's like really weird. Even if they don't win in the long run, uh, that's kind of weird that that faction is is working, um, is making strides in that way. I that's kind of odd.
SPEAKER_01I have to believe that it's it's young people that are just coming up to vote. I haven't seen the data coming out yet about um, you know, the exit polls and things like that. But I have to believe a lot of young people. I mean, I remember when I was first in the news business coming out of college, I worked um in a more local newsroom, and a lot of those girls I worked with were, you know, 21, 22, 23. This was a couple years ago, um, really into Bernie Sanders. Yes. Really felt disenfranchised by their low paychecks and and their horrible insurance and all the healthcare system. So I feel like that's probably what's going on. And more young people I think have moved to Florida too, um, as there's been more expanding opportunities and housing and things like that.
SPEAKER_00And do you think that, you know, it is about the just the affordability? This is that new word that everyone is saying, uh, that, you know, gas is too high, electric bills are too high, pay is not keeping up, their raises aren't keeping up, the jobs aren't high paying. Um, it do you think that is pushing those young people towards listening to socialists that are, well, we all know it's a bait and switch, but do you think that that's why they're making sense?
SPEAKER_01I do. I do think a lot of young people want someone to come and save them and say, hey, adulthood's not gonna be as hard as you think it is right now if we do these policy priorities that I have. I mean, I see it as a young person. I mean, it it is it is rough out there. I mean, how much homes cost, the American dream does feel out of reach for a lot of people, especially people that don't have family wealth or things like that to help them. Um, so I mean, I I've definitely noticed that for sure.
SPEAKER_00Okay, as a young woman, because I was a young woman in media back then, um, it is rough and uh to be a young woman trying to navigate the shark-infested waters of media business and um men in general. Um no offense, Nick. But I mean, I am really, really aggravated with what they're doing with Natalie Harp and how they're trying to say, you know, she's you know, uh he has feelings for her, and it just totally discredits her. Any reason why she might have rose to that position? Now they're saying that she was it was uh, you know, they were had to go somewhere in an SUV and she's so attached to him, she said, Don't worry, if there's no room for me, I'll ride in the trunk. And she got into the SUV trunk. They're saying all these stories.
SPEAKER_03He saved her by putting her protecting her off the decoy plane. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So what is this narrative that's going on out there? Um, and why do you think that's happening? I mean, it kind of bubbled up with when Senator Osof made kind of a an innuendo that it was because they are they have a thing, you know. So now it's like Natalie Harp, you know, they keep bringing up. And now CNN even interviewed her brother. I mean, that's how desperate they are. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Senator Osoff took his swipe at her at a campaign rally in Atlanta on Sunday, and basically he was criticizing Trump over the Iran war, and he made this slimy comment about how the president only cares about building the ballroom and quote traveling with Natalie.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_01Um, and I just think it's interesting that while belonging to the self-proclaimed pro-woman party, which we all know is true, um, especially not pro girls in the womb, right? Um, but he he didn't miss a chance to try to smear a beautiful young Republican woman who's had early career success with the president of the United States after winning a battle against cancer that she also credits him to for the right to try um law that he signed. So, I mean he's tried to explain his comments and television appearances. I don't know if it was with Jen Shacky. It was it was one of those news networks basically saying, Oh, she's the six percent gatekeeper to Trump, you know, she's always around and trying to downplay it. But there is a certain innuendo to being like, oh, traveling with Natalie and and doing that to a young woman in politics, I mean, that can be damaging to a career. And and and it makes people not take a woman seriously when you put their reputation on the line like that. So I just think, you know, honestly, in either party, I don't feel that you should be saying those types of things about people. There's plenty of policy to talk about without making personal jabs.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And you know what, we see a lot of people who become you know, politics is is a business of loyalty and who you can truck trust and palace intrigue and all of that. But literally she believes, like you said, and I totally forgot about that, um uh with the right to try and how she believes that he saved her life by giving her the right to try. And um I I I I get it. Like I get that she's a fan. I'm a fan of Trump too. Okay. So so what?
SPEAKER_03You know, wait, are you having an affair with him?
SPEAKER_00No, I mean like it's so annoying, you know. And uh it does take a lot of credibility for uh for a woman who's worked her way up and she, you know, she made inroads and she got there a lot quicker than some other people, and people are just like I just like you said, they're supposed to be supposedly the party for women and they constantly prove otherwise.
SPEAKER_01So Right, and the White House isn't having any of it. I mean, even Trump fired back calling him a Pee-wee Herman lookalike. On Twitter, they were calling him a theater kid, an extreme democrat. There were a couple other comments that I won't make on here that we do. Have you heard of talking about it?
SPEAKER_00He tries to speak as if he's being so profound. And he just like does all this slow talking to to act like he's saying something so important when I know it's he's searching for something to say. That's actually why he's doing it. But yeah, you gotta watch it. You gotta watch the interview. I'm gonna play it uh in the next segment. Um uh uh Aaron Burnett interviewing Natalie Harp's brother. If I was her, I would smack him. Like, why are you even answering the phone, dude? What are you doing?
SPEAKER_03And think of the double standard too, because when you've got a pretty decent backstory body of evidence of some of these people on the left who have done things to get their way to the top, it gets ignored. Yeah. But the hint of anything as far as you know, immoral or amoral.
SPEAKER_00They're supporting Swalwell and Plattener and all these disgusting people. And then they're beating up on Natalie Hart for working for Trump. Unbelievable. All right. Thank you so much, uh, Catherine Hamilton, the political reporter for Breitbart.com. Do you ever go on the fight club or any of those things?
SPEAKER_01I haven't gotten to yet, but it's something I definitely aspire to. I'm always doing great things over at Breitbart.
SPEAKER_03Well, let me guess you got to train up a little bit first, right? Yeah, right before you get into the fight club.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Practice that uh upper time. All right, sounds good. Well, thank you so much, and we'll we'll talk to you next time. Thank you. You all have a good day.
