And joining us right now from Breitbart is the National Security Deputy Editor, John Hayward. Good morning.
SPEAKER_00Good morning. Great to talk to you again.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's good to have you on. So we have a lot going on. First of all, we had the funeral services for our beloved Senator Lindsey Graham. We had foreign dignitaries coming there, including Netanyahu and uh No ex-presidents. No, even Biden didn't go. Nobody showed up how. We even had uh Zelensky come. So uh what do you think happened or what do we know happened in those conversations regarding Iran and maybe even the Ukrainian uh, you know, the Russian war in Ukraine. What do we know so far, John?
SPEAKER_00Well, according to Prime Minister Netanyahu from Israel, the conversations on Iran went great. Uh he and Trump see eye to eye, no daylight between them. He seemed very pleased uh with everything that was said and done when he met with the president. Valency's gonna be a harder nut to crack to figure out what's gonna happen next and how this is all gonna shake out because so much is happening at the same time. You can't talk about Iran without talking about Ukraine. They're related to each other. It's a lot of stuff the United States is involved in right now. But my sense is still that the Ukrainians have a bit of the battlefield initiative now. It's still a stalemate, the Russians are still all over the place, but the Ukrainians have demonstrated an increasing ability to hit Russian targets and their targets that are making the Russians hurt. So the pressure is increasing on Russia to try to back off, and that's why Zelensky wants us to slap more sanctions on Russia, and so did Lindsey Graham. It was one of the things he was working on before he passed away so suddenly. So I mean there's a lot of sense that maybe one more round of of tough sanctions will push the Russian economy into a place where it's unsustainable to continue the war.
SPEAKER_01Speaking of Russia, not only the economy, but um, you know, the do they have the weaponry, the ammunition? Uh we where are they getting it from? Where are they getting the people from? There was a a call to bring in 500,000 more troops that we heard. I don't know if it's true. I actually spoke to someone who is Russian and she loves Putin and communism and she lives here, which is kind of comical. Um, but uh but she said that uh you know, they're pulling people from indigenous tribal places and paying off their family in exchange for these people, but where are they getting these 500,000 people? Do you have any indication as to what's happening there?
SPEAKER_00Well, the short answer is everywhere. The Russians have been running recruiting scams in pretty much every country in the developing world, trying to loop young men into their military machine. They've got them from Africa, they've gotten them from India, they've poached them from every place they could think of to trick some people into coming to Russia. Very often under false, false pretenses. They have these scams they run where they say you're going to interview for a support job and it's gonna be really lucrative. You move to Russia, you'll make a lot of money. And then when you get there, they they hand you a rifle or a stick shaped like a rifle and they send you off to the front line. It's it's something that's happened more than once, and several countries have castigated the Russians for it and demanded that they halt the practice. But they're still doing it. And I I believe you're uh your friend there, your your correspondent. I think one of the things they're doing is looking further away from civilization. Now that they've been busted uh for bringing people in from places like India, they're gonna go further and further into rural areas where they can recruit people from small villages that will never blab to the media that they've been suckered into the Russian army.
SPEAKER_01That is unbelievable. I I can't even imagine what are the Russian people thinking or what do they know about what's happening? And if anybody says anything, they d they are disappeared.
SPEAKER_00They get a lot of propaganda in Russia. So I mean they think they're on a sacred crusade to defeat the Ukrainian Nazis and all that jive. So they they think this is is a necessary battle they're committed to. And Putin feeds them a lot of World War II propaganda that logs how tough and determined the Russian people are. So he's constantly telling them the thing that makes you the greatest people on earth is that you can take these appalling losses and be stuck in a quagmire for years and years and you'll never give up. And that's the the virtue that he's trying to cultivate in his population. I think that that's worked to some degree to shore up Russian support for the war. But that's why it's so important that Ukraine is becoming very adept at hitting targets in Russia. They just attacked another major Russian oil refinery last night, and it's really hard to horn swoggle your people into thinking this is all going well when the Ukrainians are blowing up the oil refinery next door. But I think that's likely to shake the Russian public support for the war a bit, seeing that the Ukrainians can hit them so hard.
SPEAKER_01Uh there was talk again about those F-35s going to Turkey. Trump was touting his relationship with Erjouan, saying that um it's a really good relationship. They have a really strong uh military, he said. What do we know about that relationship and Netanyahu's plea for us not to sell these to Turkey?
SPEAKER_00Well, one of the things Trump was trying to do when he said all of that was to shame the Europeans. So he was basically saying, hey, the the these Turks and Erdogan, these are tough guys, unlike you wimps, you know, that I can't rely on in a fight. So that that's one of the reasons he said those things. The bottom line is Turkey is not going to get those planes until they get rid of their Russian missiles. They have this inventory of Russian S-400 surface to air missiles, and it's actually a matter of law. We we have a law that was passed years ago that they can't have the F-35s until they dump the S-400 missiles. And they might be able to do that. There have been stories that they're looking for buyers who will take those missiles off their hands. And if they do get rid of the missiles, the legal objection to giving them the F-35 goes away. Then you have Prime Minister Netanyahu's objection that Turkey, which is a not a very reliable ally and is very hostile to Israel, should not have the world's most advanced fighter jet. So it becomes more of a political battle once the legal obstacle is removed. But I do think the legal obstacle will be removed. Turkey doesn't need those missiles. They only ever bought them as a gesture of defiance and to shore up their relations with Russia. And the Russians are reportedly okay with the idea of them selling the missiles to somebody else and getting rid of them. So I strongly suspect that will happen sometime in the next year or two.
SPEAKER_01We're speaking with John Hayward from the national he's actually the national security deputy at Breitbart. Um, one of the things that came onto our radar yesterday was were the threats to Melania and Baron Trump. Um something about an AI video. Tell us what you know about that.
SPEAKER_00It was broadcast by a TASMIM News Agency, which is one of Iran's state media outlets, and it's an AI-generated video that's explicitly telling Iran's allies around the world to murder Melania Trump and Baron Trump. And it was all doctored footage that showed her supposedly shopping. Uh, one of the scenes in it showed her on the cover of Vogue magazine, which has never actually happened in real life. Uh Vogue has no patience for her, doesn't think she's worth covering. Uh we over bripe are due. We're we're one of the only places that's ever really given her her due as a glamorous fashion icon. And we've had articles like that before, but they didn't see fit to put us into their murder videos. I guess I guess we're I guess we're thankful for that. You know, they say any exposure is a good exposure. But yeah, this whole thing is obviously meant to rattle President Trump and to be and to demonstrate Iran's malevolence and convey this idea that nobody's untouchable, that they have servants and dark followers around the world who can commit murders and so on. The Secret Service is concerned about this, they should be. I mean, there it's a realistic threat that they have to protect the first family from.
SPEAKER_01So where are we at right now? Because we heard that there was a pause, we heard leaks that we're running out of weapons. Trump said, that's not true. Um we heard uh, you know, someone say that that leaker should be arrested for doing what they said. Uh and we've also heard that Trump said, we're ready, we have plenty of what whatever we need. Uh he said the the more high-tech stuff that will take some time to duplicate. We also heard that Iran has these drones that are hard to wipe out, and that is kind of like our biggest problem, these suicide drones. Where exactly are we in this? And are those talks happening? He said they're happening on every level, um, and that he'll go right back to striking Iran again. That's all I know. Um give us what you know about that.
SPEAKER_00Well, the Iranians launched a sneak attack with ballistic missiles on an American base in Jordan last night. So if if there really are talks ongoing, you'd think that would make the uh talks a little more difficult after they did something like that. They're still attacking their neighbors, the Iranians are still attacking other countries in the Middle East, they're still hitting their the neighboring Gulf Arab states. Their proxies, the Houthis, are still trying to shut down Saudi Arabia's oil shipments through the Red Sea. So as far as Iran is concerned, this is still a hot war and they're still fighting it. And I I don't know that there's any good reason to give them a breather. I I really hope that if there's anything going on right now, it's just moving the pieces into place to finish them off and just put an end to this. I think the world should have seen by now that Iran is intolerable. They they can't exist in their current form, they can't continue to menace global shipping, they can't continue to menace the region. This regime has to come down. And I I think they've demonstrated that to the world. Now, will the world do anything about it? And one of the things that frustrates President Trump is finding out that much of the rest of the world doesn't really have the capability to do anything about a problem like Iran. The Iranians have been stockpiling missiles and drones for decades. The thing about their drones is that they're cheap. They can build these suicide drones for pennies on the dollar compared to what it takes to intercept them. So they think they're gonna win in a constant war of attrition, and that that really can't be allowed to stand. The Iranians are making plans to harvest money out of the Strait of Hormos to extort money from ships going through there. I don't think that can be allowed. I don't think you can let the world's worst sponsor of terrorism that's a demonstrated threat to the entire region open up a new line of income where they're gonna be getting billions of dollars a year from taxing shipping. So I don't know what the right answer is, but I think the wrong answer is to let them get away with all of that.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Um I I I know that um your primary focus is, you know, um national security as a deputy editor, but uh we are about to see what's um going on with Dr. Fauci. Um any comments or news coverage that you can share with us about this hot seat he's about to sit in? We we're kind of thinking nothing's really gonna come of this in the interview.
SPEAKER_00That's the right attitude to take. It's very unlikely that I know what people want is uh like the movie A Few Good Men, where Jack Nicholson jumps up and says, You can't handle the truth, and then he proceeds to hang himself. Everybody wants that to happen, and I think Grand Paul would like that to happen as he questions him. But it probably not. You know, this is probably not going to be the personal undoing of Fauci. But it is important for the world to pay attention to this. That guy's a lunatic, and he never should have been in charge of anything. Never mind our response to the global pandemic. He is personally the author of many horrors that have been visited upon the American people, and he'll never be held accountable for it. But you need to understand who he is, why he did the things that he did, and then make damn sure that nobody like him ever has power over your life again.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we're trying to do that in South Carolina, but our governor keeps trying to screw us.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we got the female version of Dr. Fox.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we we they keep trying to shove these uh j these um, you know, Department of Health czars down our throats, and we keep trying to shoot it down because they're looking to do the same thing here. It's unbelievable. People think that South Carolina is all like got their stuff together. No, they no, it doesn't.
SPEAKER_00We've all got problems. I live in Florida, we still have problems too, even after having a murder to Santa.
SPEAKER_01We all have bikes. What's with the e-bikes down there? And the reason why I'm asking is because when we went to uh Florida to see my son, we went to uh St. Petersburg, and my son said, Ma, you gotta look out for these e-bikes. They're all over the place and they come out of everywhere and whatever. And now there's like teen takeovers with these e-bikes. Like it's out of control.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it it is. I don't know what the answer to it is because I don't think you can outlaw them, but they are really annoying. We're a place with little nice weather and people get stuff like that, and they're suddenly all over the place. It's a fad.
SPEAKER_01It's crazy. I mean, they they did a teen takeover with them, and I don't know how that's gonna end, but those teen takeovers are a problem all over the country, too.
SPEAKER_00There has to be an answer to that. You can't just let swarms of feral teenagers start shutting down shopping malls and retail outlets and things like that. But everyone's a little flummoxed as to what to do about it because we have so many laws that prevent teenagers from being held to account the way an adult would be. And they know it. That's why they're doing that. Where are the parents?
