SPEAKER_04

All right. Trans Friday people.

SPEAKER_03

Ah What? It's been a lot.

SPEAKER_04

I know. You know what the next investment's gonna be? It's gonna be one of those dual camera things where you can split screen and then we feed the audio out from the headphone jack. Easy to do.

SPEAKER_03

I'm telling you, you have to download the Prism app. Okay, fine. That will do it.

SPEAKER_04

Because the Prism just Okay, bring your tablet in or we'll use mine, whatever the case may be. Yeah, I have to control that thing. I don't know if we're gonna do that. And then we'll do our show live on YouTube.

SPEAKER_03

We'll have to practice it. Well, yeah, yeah. Because um we never have time to figure it out before or after the show.

SPEAKER_04

No, we'll practice it. We need to get that that the dual camera setup thing. And then the audio, like I said, we've got to be a little bit more. I forgot what that was called. What was that called?

SPEAKER_03

Uh what's the name of that app? Can't remember. Um lot going on. A lot going on. Anything new with the Pauli's Island Community Church debacles?

SPEAKER_04

Well, here's what we have a report if you want to listen to it right away. It is from WBTW filed last night. They spoke to uh, I guess one of the attorneys representing the families. Uh well, go ahead. It's about two and a half minutes. Here we go. This is from last night.

SPEAKER_02

Tonight we're learning more about the newest lawsuits against Pauli's Island Christian Academy and Community Church, its leaders, and sex offender Warren Perry. News 13's Cameron Townsend has followed this case from the beginning. She digs into the filings that make claims of sexual abuse.

SPEAKER_01

One lawsuit alleges a child was sexually abused in 2022. According to the lawsuit, the child's parents first became aware something was wrong after their five-year-old described a sexually explicit game, a game he said he learned at Polly's Island Christian Academy.

SPEAKER_00

The game was was graphic and the game was wrong. The family's immediate concerns were about their little boy's health. And so what they did is they took their child to his pediatrician, and the pediatrician is a mandatory reporter.

SPEAKER_01

The attorney says the family believes the pediatrician reported the allegations to law enforcement. The lawsuit claims investigators later told the family there wasn't enough evidence to move forward at that time.

SPEAKER_00

The problem is that in the interim, the family immediately, right after this happened, the following Monday, he goes and informs the school director, Nikki Howard. Nikki Howard first claims that nothing like this has ever happened at the school. When Nikki Howard is informed of what happened to this little boy, rather than wanting to investigate, she begins questioning whether or not the child is a known liar, actually reaches out to the little boy's prior teacher and starts asking for documentation, anything that they can show. It's both outrageous and horrific that when the director of the school learns of these allegations against a known sex offender, rather than investigating, she begins trying to cover it up.

SPEAKER_01

The lawsuit goes on to claim Perry remained at the academy for several more years before his arrest.

SPEAKER_00

Nothing's done at the school, other than our family immediately removes their child from the school, but they allow him to continue working unabated within the academy's walls, sponsored by a Christian academy, for approximately four more years until he's finally uncovered and reported. And even then the denials have continued.

SPEAKER_01

In this case, along with the others filed, it's claimed multiple times that school and church leaders knew of Perry's criminal history and failed to take proper precautions.

SPEAKER_00

You had a direct report of Warren Perry sexually abusing a five-year-old child back in 2022, whose complaints were essentially dismissed, suppressed, retaliated against all in the name of defending a registered sex offender.

SPEAKER_01

The allegations in these lawsuits have not been proven in court. In the newsroom, Cameron Townsend, News 13.

SPEAKER_04

There you go.

SPEAKER_03

So as I said, uh occasionally this podcaster comes across my uh feed, the Robbie Harvey Show. And he said, I need to share something important. I've been on the phone all day talking with dozens of people. People who are completely shattered at what's happening in Pauli's Island, South Carolina. I can confidently tell you this. We're about to go down a dark path. A very dark path. The last time I felt this way was in April of 2024 when Micah Miller died. Her pastor husband abused her so much he drove her to her grave. Little did we know that over two years later that story would still haunt me. Why? Because there are dozens of witnesses waiting for their voices to be heard. And one day you will hear them. But until then, the secrets of John Paul Miller will stay with me. Now here we are again. This time just a few miles south of Myrtle Beach. What has happened to at Polly's Island Community Church didn't pop up overnight. It was a building. It was, I'm sorry, it was building. It was building over 27 years. Oh boy. And finally the dam broke. So here's my advice. If you, if something happened to you at this church or school, go to law enforcement. If you're not comfortable with that, go to an attorney. If you're not comfortable with that, my DMs are open. Because let me say this in all caps, you are not alone. I promise you, you're not. You've been made to feel alone, but you're not. You've been made to feel that you are a bad Christian, but you're not. You've been made to feel small and inadequate. But today, you're more powerful than ever before before. They will pay, and I'll make sure all of it is exposed. Do you think it's worse than it really has already led on to be?

SPEAKER_04

Okay, there's a part of me that doesn't really hopes no. There's a part of me I have to look at this logically and take the emotion out, because right now I get very emotional about it. I mean, I was at my limit yesterday when we were covering this towards the end of the show. But I will say this looking at it, just no emotion. I believe that there are some truths here. I believe, unfortunately, like any situation like this, and it was even pointed out on the uh the budget blind text line, uh, you know, there's gonna be some fakes, people looking to cash in. Sadly, it always happens. But somewhere in between all of that, yes, there is something horrible that was going on because they let a registered sex offender on the grounds of this school/slash church for years. There were warning signs, and as you can see, and evident by their resignations and subsequent arrests, that they tried to talk witnesses out of it. Well, that didn't happen. That doesn't happen here. We've heard that from more than one witness. So Yeah, something bad went on. How bad it it's gonna get, I'm hoping.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know if that's if any of those allegations are true.

SPEAKER_04

It was just civil, not not criminal.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I heard that um the way I understand it, he wasn't convicted of anything. Right. But rather, uh there was a payoff of some kind. Oh. And uh they're indicating that it was uh, I guess, sexual in nature. I've also read this one really made me um sad, this one comment about it.

SPEAKER_04

Is it Robbie Harvey? We're getting questions on that.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Uh, you see how they've uh they're already trying to have you removed from their local group. I work in Polly's and live in Surfside. She's telling this guy. People here are way too comfortable with looking the other way to avoid negative press.

SPEAKER_04

And I feel that's what was going on.

SPEAKER_03

That is the truest statement ever about this town.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, and I feel on many regards. And I feel that's what was happening here. They were talking the witnesses out. Well, that didn't happen. Yeah, well, yeah. Anyway.

SPEAKER_03

Um, someone said uh with every breaking story, my first thought is of all those that kept quiet, I truly understand why, but please end the domino effect this has caused in your life, and possibly others. So the first thought is always to like, ooh, don't talk about it. Don't talk about it, right? I don't know, I am not like that. I am so the antithesis.

SPEAKER_04

It's human nature that if you don't recognize it, acknowledge it, and don't talk about it, it doesn't, it didn't happen. Some people really truly can convince themselves, well, I'm not gonna talk about this, I'm going to ignore this, and in their mind it didn't happen. You know what I mean? Yeah, I was guilty of that a long time ago, and sadly lived my life a little bit like that. Well, I'm not gonna talk about it, it didn't happen, don't worry about it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And I moved on, and all it did was someone else's problem, like I'll just walk away.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and it's you just you end up carrying it.

SPEAKER_04

That's that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_03

You could change where you live, but it never changes.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Exactly. You can't run from your problems because they'll always follow you.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm. That's crazy stuff, right? Crazy stuff. And you know what's what's interesting about it? Um you know, and I think it was you and Dr. Nick Mazza when you guys were talking about how it's like triply and doubly, quadruply worse of a sin if you use your voice as a pastor to do these kinds of things. Was it wasn't that part of the conversation?

SPEAKER_04

It was. And that with changing Is it in the Bible or something? And changing the word of God as well.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, right, right.

SPEAKER_04

That was both of those are that was what you were talking about. God is not going to be happy.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. And so it's almost like coercive control. You know how we talked about that when the abuser is not literally trained chaining you to the radiator, but there the abuser is doing all the things to figuratively keep you chained, like financially, isolating you from your family, isolating you from your friends, controlling where you work, or how much money you have in your pocket, or whether or not you apply or have a credit card. You don't, you know, that's called coercive control. You can add, if it's not already in there, using religion, using your beliefs to make you part of the problem.

SPEAKER_04

We've heard testimony from people who attended that church. And again, I feel so horrible for them because all they want to do is go and be part of a church community. Spirituality is very important to almost everybody I know. And this is where they feel that they can worship God and in peace and serenity and get closer and walk with Jesus, all of that. And here they're blindsided by this. And here comes what I say. We heard the testimony. When people questioned it, they were Christian shamed.

SPEAKER_03

That's what these are.

SPEAKER_04

That's what I mean. That's exact that's exactly what you were just talking about. How dare you question? We're trying to save a soul. Yeah. And then it makes you question your own questions. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, no, no, no. Save his soul, just not around my child. Thank you.

SPEAKER_04

And it's really that simple.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Go minister to him somewhere else. I don't care if it's McDonald's bathroom. Go have fun. Go to prison, wherever. Yeah. That he does not need to be ministered to to save his soul on the grounds of children, and they're singing happy birthday to him, washing his feet, and he's playing these little games over here.

SPEAKER_03

Do you know how disgusting that is on so many levels? I know.

SPEAKER_04

And he, do you know?

SPEAKER_03

You you know you're dripping with content.

SPEAKER_04

That pervert was sitting there eating it up while they're saying happy birthday. Whoa!

SPEAKER_03

Oh, don't even the feet washing. What are you talking about? Well, that both stuck on that.

SPEAKER_04

Well, both. Jeez. They get off on those weirdest little things.

SPEAKER_03

I just don't know. Here's the here's an interesting um This is oh I could talk about this one second. This is from um a woman she wrote, Thank you for taking the initiative and concern to expose and make people aware of these atrocities. I feel so ashamed that upon moving to Myrtle Beach in 1997, we chose an old officer's housing in the former recently developed Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. Shortly after, we started attending Cathedral Baptist and fell under the spell of Dr. Wayne Miller. You know who that is, right? JP Miller's father. Thank you. And he owned that property there by the Solid Rock Church. And then JP made it into that church. Not long after we enrolled both nieces. We had custody of them at the time. We enrolled them in their school. Sometimes I don't trust my own decisions after researching all the histories of his improprieties alone. It took a lot of bravery for that child at Polly's Island to come forward. I hope everyone receives the justice they deserve and the victims can move forward with healing. It's such a shame that those entrusted to uphold the teaching of the word failed to uphold it. They should be held accountable. You had one job to do, Pastor, and you played God. You chose to withhold information and let that monster into your flock. And now the blood is on your hands. So this is someone that's been through it. That's a local. And as she said, she fell under the spell. You know, a lot of these people are so charismatic.

SPEAKER_04

And they use it for nefarious reasons and to their advantage. So horrible. Not not to do God's work, apparently.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_04

Because allowing this person on the grounds and putting all of those people and children especially in danger, it's not part of God's plan. You're not doing God's work at all. You're serving another master.

SPEAKER_03

But you know, like all the people that go there, I mean, the sense of betrayal.

SPEAKER_04

I feel so horrible for them. I know what it's like to feel like an integral part, so much of me, part of the church. And I've talked about it, Myrtle Beach Christian Church. And and if you know, I I'm not, I have to be careful because I'm not saying anything like that ever happened. No, no, of course not. But putting myself in their shoes, if I was doing that and comfortable and this is great, and all of a sudden, bam, you get smacked with something like this.

SPEAKER_03

But you know, here's the thing here's the thing I'm questioning. Because this is where my mind goes, because I trust no one. Um, did this sex offender have so much charisma that they duped the leadership of this church into believing that he could be what's the word I'm looking for?

SPEAKER_04

He could turn it around, fix it. Whatever.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Or something worse.

SPEAKER_04

I I don't even want to know where you're going on the something worse.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I'm saying, were the was the leadership duped into thinking they could rehabilitate this guy? Well, that's gonna be save him.

SPEAKER_04

That's gonna be their story, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Or were they turned on by the whole thing? And served up the children. Now, these are two things that I think of. Why else would you allow children to wash his feet?

SPEAKER_04

Well, that's a that's a thing in the Bible, and I get that. No! No, I know that.

SPEAKER_03

That's not what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_04

I know, but they're you know the guy that's a sex of the people. I know they're disguising it with, well, that's just a natural thing, and this is what we teach, and Jesus washed the disciples' feet. Yeah, I I know that's the premise, but you're right. Why would they? Exactly my point. And that's a valid question. As sick and demented as it is, it's valid.

SPEAKER_03

I need to know the answer to that question.

SPEAKER_04

It's valid.

SPEAKER_03

Did you literally did this disgusting convicted sex offender literally dupe you because either either scenario is a disqualifier for a leader of anything? I agree. Okay. So that goes without saying, but either are you are you so stupid and naive to think that you can rehabilitate this person, or were you part of the whole plan? Are you are you part of are you enjoying this and you served up children in your twisted mind?

SPEAKER_04

Again, valid question.

SPEAKER_03

That is what that is the most important thing I need to know because who allows a sex offender when you say he didn't have any any relations and no cross paths, and who allows that? And has they have pictures of it? Pictures, video, you know, kids slip and slide, pools. Come on. How does this make any sense?

SPEAKER_04

Well, to me it doesn't.

SPEAKER_03

No. So to me, not only are you complicit, you're enjoying it. And that's what it says to me. That's where my mind goes. Because it's illegal what you did, which is to knowingly expose children to a sex offender. Isn't that illegal? You allow it to happen?

SPEAKER_04

I would think so.

SPEAKER_03

I don't understand how it works. Is it illegal to hire a sex offender?

SPEAKER_04

Well, they were arrested, weren't they?

SPEAKER_03

What are the charges? I think conspiracy, something, I don't know. But that that's my question. So, like, let's say I am a an owner of a school, and I say, Oh, you're on the sex offender list? Sure, you can work here. I'll get approval. Hey, probation officer. Yeah, we don't have any children that no, no, they won't be around any children. Okay, hang up the phone. And for years, he's around. Oh, I think he's rehabilitated. Does to heck with the law. I'm just wondering. I don't understand how this happened. Other than they wanted it to happen. Because it doesn't happen by accident. All of it was planned.

SPEAKER_04

And knowing what we know now about today, as a true leader of the church, your job is not only to administer the word of God and save the souls, we know all that stuff, but also to protect your flock. Of course. That's not protecting anything. That's not protecting anything. Well, we have to. We've seen the violence.

SPEAKER_03

Inviting people in.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, there you go.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. All right. We'll be back.

SPEAKER_04

Guess who just popped up on the uh budget blinds text line?

SPEAKER_03

Um, I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

Megadon. Oh. Another interesting story. My life. Joey Budafuco came into my restaurant a few different times.

SPEAKER_03

Tell me he drove him into the airport. I'm waiting for him. That guy's an SOB. Hey, hey, hey, Don. Yeah. Yeah. I wonder what he's doing now. Megadon? No, no, not Magadon, no, no. But I mean, Joey, but if you go, fuck go. The way you're supposed to say it. Uh, he served four months in jail for statutory rape of Amy Fisher, the Long Island lowly. Um, but you know, her life has been an absolute disaster. Now she was sentenced to serve fifteen years for shooting her in the face. Um she was paroled after seven. They divorced uh uh Mary Joe and um uh Joey. I think he did porn for a little while too. Really? Yeah, I think so. I vaguely remember that so yeah. Anyway, she does have a uh a private Instagram um uh you know, you can follow her there if you wanted to. But anyway, I just think it's uh one of those stories that just never goes away, right?

SPEAKER_04

Apparently not. Definitely not. I never thought I'd ever hear those names again, and here I am. Yeah, exactly. In 2026, sitting across from you in a padded closet.

SPEAKER_03

We we literally, I mean, that was all we covered for months and months and months. I mean, it was like unbelievable. And uh, you know, the sometimes you get these stories that grip a community and then people dig in and take sides, right? So Oh yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

There always seems to be that. Yeah, they take sides, yeah. No matter what horrible, horrific things side A did, they have their followers say, Oh no, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_03

I was like, Are you blind? Well, she was 16. He preyed upon her, and he's like, I did not have sex with that woman. I thought she was 20.

SPEAKER_04

I know.

SPEAKER_03

He still says he's never had sex with her.

SPEAKER_04

Really?

SPEAKER_03

But yet he yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I only do it in porn.

SPEAKER_03

And then and then and then Amy and Fisher and him, like, there was an interview with the two of them, like, I don't know. I think it was she's like 51 now. Um, it was like 30 something years ago, but a few years back they had like a uh moderated conversation between the two, and she's like, You have never apologized to me for what you did to me when I was just 16 years old. And he's like, Really? I I'm done with this, I'm done with this. All of these lies, lies. That's all. So he says that she's lying. They never had sex, they never had an affair.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. But here we are.

SPEAKER_03

But here we are. And now Amy Fisher's son is also evil, twisted, and a killer. So um so we talked about the Pauli's Island Community Church. Another shining star on the hill. Uh, let's talk about the bar owner, who gives more details about the shooting that happened on Wacama Boulevard Sunday night.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, the owner uh has provided new details over the shootout, as you mentioned, that left one person wounded. Officers were called to the third 200 block of Wackama Boulevard just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday, found evidence of gunfire.

SPEAKER_03

I was actually at this pub. I uh we went there too.

SPEAKER_04

We had lunch there once.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's pretty good.

SPEAKER_04

Anyway, uh the area is near Pub International. Justin Decker, the owner of said club said or pub, uh told News 13 the video surveillance showed a vehicle pull up and back into a handicapped spot outside the Phantom Fireworks. Multiple males with guns were inside the vehicle. Later, another car with males in it pulled up elsewhere in the parking lot. According to what Decker saw in the video, at least one male in that car also had a gun. None of the people involved in the shooting were inside Pub International at any point. And Decker said the bar security guard went over to both cars, asked them to leave, and let them know 911 had been called. That's around the time the shooting began, of course. Ugh, leading to someone being shot. Decker says, based on that video, he does not believe the person uh shot to be an uninvolved bystander. Oh, interesting, because that's what we heard. He, his opinion. Reviewing his survey.

SPEAKER_03

He should keep his opinions to himself.

SPEAKER_04

Well for safety reasons. Well, Oricani PD did describe that person on Facebook as uninvolved bystander.

SPEAKER_03

I'll tell you how I actually felt when I went there.

SPEAKER_04

He hold on. He said he hopes to see the people involved get arrested and is cooperating with police. When asked if the pub international changed anything, he went through how they have security guards, pat downs, all that stuff in the parking lot. Uh News 13 asked Oricani PD if the person who was injured was still considered an uninvolved bystander. No comment. Investigation is ongoing. That's the uh update.

SPEAKER_03

So I remember pulling up there like around hmm 7.30-ish. Something like that. 8 30. I remember going in there and um sitting down with a couple of friends, and they were like, Oh, you gotta try this new place. I heard it's great, whatever. And I was like, uh I don't think it's my kind of place. But I went anyway. In my head, I'm thinking. And I went in there and um I put my back against the wall. Just like a true New Yorker. Always facing the door. And I was looking around. But what about the back door? Yeah, well, that's why I was in the middle, my back against the wall. Got it. And I and I was thinking, I was like, okay, that's early enough. But when we left, someone said, This place gets packed at night. Really? And there was a security guard sitting there and stoic. And I walked out and I looked at him and I went, whoa, stuff's about to go down. Like it just looked like they were ready for the masses.

SPEAKER_04

We went there for lunch. I mean, literally at like noon. Hardly anybody in there. It was new. Right. So we thought, oh, it's new. We used to go there when it was Ron John's burgers. We would go there for, you know, they had trivia night, you know, and it was it was fine.

SPEAKER_03

I just have a feeling, I think, that certain places that have certain addresses and it has nothing to do with the owners. Remember the Barfield story.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So I just feel like trouble followed it through like three name changes. I mean, Barfields was fine on 544. Never, never repeat, right? It's like I'm aware of. It's like you need to to like I I just think certain I think now like they just need a place to go. And they pick a place and they they put these owners in a spot. I don't know why this happens.

SPEAKER_04

It does seem like certain geographical locations, no matter what addresses. A certain address. Yeah. Again, looking at the.

SPEAKER_03

No matter how good the owners are, they're like, oh, this is a great deal. Yeah, I'm gonna oh, I always wanted a pub.

SPEAKER_04

This poor guy invests all of his life savings and he's like And doing everything he can security-wise, and it still happens uh beyond his control in a parking lot that's true, close, but has nothing to do with his bar or his club. That is a scary parking lot.

SPEAKER_03

Don't go there at night.

SPEAKER_04

Uh we didn't.

SPEAKER_03

It was I mean, how late is that phantom fire? Do they have anything to do with it?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know. I don't know how late they're open. I can't imagine they're open at 11:30.

SPEAKER_03

Uh let's look. Let's look. Just curiosity. You know, I feel bad because it has nothing to do with them either. I feel bad because I just feel like certain addresses attract and it has nothing to do with the business owners, and they end up screwed.

SPEAKER_04

No, they close at nine. Open daily, nine to nine. So they've been closed for hours. So it's just an empty and they pulled in.

SPEAKER_03

I just wondering, uh, has this been going on? Have they been pulling in their what was the nature of the shooting?

SPEAKER_04

Exactly.

SPEAKER_03

What was the nature?

SPEAKER_04

Didn't we play my band play at Barfields once? You came there with Javi.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I feel bad. It was a good place. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Actually, there was a the place before it, Renegades?

SPEAKER_04

I don't remember the name. I remember the other names. Well, that's next door. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I went into one of the one of them one time and they had a sushi chef come out and do sushi there. Really? Wonderful. Wow. Um, and that was like maybe one or two names earlier. And I don't know.

SPEAKER_04

Remedies.

SPEAKER_03

Remedies, thank you.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. We that was the first bar, if you will, when we moved into our apartment that we went to. Mm-hmm. And we got to And I I lived in the apartments across the street. And the owner was a former uh firefighter.

SPEAKER_03

That's right. That's what I had heard. He's a great this is a great place.

SPEAKER_04

He's a great guy. It was a great location. I got to meet somebody who actually texts the show still. He was like their head bartender or manager, I believe. I don't want to give any names out just in case. But anyway. And and and he said, Oh, you're new to the area? Moved into the neighborhood, I'll buy your first drink.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

We had something to eat and we would go there because it was something to do and it was close and we didn't know anybody.

SPEAKER_03

Everybody knows your name. Well, kinda. Because we didn't know anybody. That's that you want that neighborhood place. You look for that.

SPEAKER_04

And then we always know what you're gonna get. We moved away, we never really went back. Nothing against the place. It's just, you know, we grew up.

SPEAKER_03

Well, we were out of the beaten path.

SPEAKER_04

Kid. No kids.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you're not going out. We don't go anywhere. We don't go anywhere. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

We are with you on your birthday. It's like, whoo, seven o'clock, I can get home.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, it was a work night in your defense. But you know, there's something to be said about, and I don't and I don't agree with this totally because I'm a capitalist, but it's interesting. The concept based on what we're talking about here, like certain addresses things. But in New York, I am aware that when a place gets, I don't know, X number of issues and they get like shut down, they are banned from selling alcohol. That particular place, right? And no matter what, that ban stays on the address, not on the owner. You know what I mean? So there's something to be said about a particular address. It may be geographically convenient, pass through off a highway, off a beaten path a little bit, not near any residential, you know, like whatever it may be that makes it convenient. Okay, it's a new place. It's still open, it's still convenient, they still serve alcohol and attract a certain clientele that may, I don't know, buy their product, whatever they're selling in the in the in, you know, out of their car. So there is something to be said about putting the ban of alcohol on the address. And it stays on that address for like X number of years. I just remember vaguely being in the media, that being, you know, covering these types of stories, that that was, it actually kind of makes sense a little bit, you know? But I don't like the imposition on the people that own the land or own the building saying you can't do anything that serves alcohol in this address anymore. The the alcohol ban from the liquor authority, which is like as scary as the IRS, right? They put a owner, yeah. They put a ban on that property. It can open as something else, but not serving alcohol. And it breaks, it breaks the chain. There's nothing in Barfields, right? Nothing is opening. Well, no, wait.

SPEAKER_04

I saw something. Something's opening in Barfields? It looks like there's been activity there, but I couldn't tell you what it is. But for the longest time, overgrown in the parking lot, the little front thing. Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_03

You know, I I I didn't know.

SPEAKER_04

I I think even Clockers is still empty, but I think I thought I saw something. No, I thought I saw some activity of like something was going on, but I don't know what it was.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I mean, it has to be changed completely to something else.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Non-alcohol. Because for some reason that gravitates towards that.

SPEAKER_04

Well, a lot of people are uh, oh, yeah, there it's a Mexican name on the front, but I don't know what it is. I did see that.

SPEAKER_03

I did see Oh, I thought the Mexican bought the hamburger store.

SPEAKER_04

Well, maybe they bought both. I don't know. But I did see new writing on Barfield. Really? And it was uh it was in Spanish.

SPEAKER_03

Well, then nothing can go wrong.

SPEAKER_04

Probably not. Because they don't they don't read a lot of a lot of people said that that neighborhood has always been rough. So no matter what you put there.

SPEAKER_03

That's what I'm saying. It had but that's why I'm saying the concept of putting a ban, the nuisance ban, on the address might be illegal in the state of South Carolina, but it might break the chain. Otherwise, you just keep attracting the same clientele.

SPEAKER_04

It's gonna be like a Mexican uh uh restaurant, not restaurant, but like store where they sell things only to you know Yeah. Yeah, could be.

SPEAKER_03

I don't see any problem with it. Well, they don't sell it only to Mexicans. No, no, no, no. You know what I mean. Yeah. Only Mexican items. Thank you. And boy, do they have good ice cream in Mexican store?

SPEAKER_00

It's the Liz Callaway show with Nick Summers back in a bit.

SPEAKER_03

Coconut, mm mm mm, mango. So good.
