SPEAKER_18

I think you might be the only intern with the walk-up song.

SPEAKER_10

We got it. We got it.

SPEAKER_18

You must really be bragging to your friends. You're like, I got the cool.

SPEAKER_17

Not only do they put they pay me.

SPEAKER_11

No, listen, listen. There's no way he tells his friends I'm on a conservative radio show. No way is that happening. Are you in the closet? Oh, you know?

SPEAKER_17

Yeah. And did you say, don't worry, don't worry, dudes, man. I'm representing. Don't worry, dudes. Jillaxing. Jillaxin. They're not going to go to the city.

SPEAKER_18

What do they say to you when you say you're on the show? I mean, uh the same thing I think. I don't care.

SPEAKER_10

No, it's like you got a job. They know me.

SPEAKER_18

Come to the dark side. We have cookies.

unknown

Cookies.

SPEAKER_18

And milk. Um, hey, good morning. And um, lots of interesting stuff is happening. Hey, listen, the two early days of voting have just gone by. Nick, you were supposed to vote yesterday. And I did. How did that go?

SPEAKER_11

It was actually uh it was bustling with activity, but it didn't take us long. And the and the baby was like bustling, really crabby. But then I picked, no, I got her out of the car seat because she just she was she's teething, so she wants to be helped.

SPEAKER_21

I'll hold her.

SPEAKER_11

No, I held her and she immediately stopped.

SPEAKER_21

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_11

And then she just was looking around and she voted with me, and I explained the process.

SPEAKER_10

I was about to say, who did she vote for?

SPEAKER_11

Uh actually the same person I did. Weird.

SPEAKER_18

Did you lose a little finger?

SPEAKER_11

I did on the one. I did on the one. I bent down and yeah. And and one of the poll workers.

SPEAKER_18

I think that's slightly illegal, but whatever.

SPEAKER_11

The older gentleman said, You know, I was watching you with her, and that is so cute. You're raising them right. Oh, yeah. Doing a good job. And I was like, Oh, thank you.

SPEAKER_10

Oh heck, have three ballots on me.

SPEAKER_18

That would be great. What about you, the quintern?

SPEAKER_10

Me? Well, I had already voted. I don't believe I'm able to have.

SPEAKER_18

Oh, that's right. You already asked for a Democrat um thing. That's okay. You're young, silly.

SPEAKER_10

Silly.

SPEAKER_18

So it's okay. It's all right. Um, but you know what? Uh, this is really heating up. Like, whoever wins in this runoff is most likely going to be the governor.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah.

SPEAKER_18

Proly. Prodly.

SPEAKER_10

Is that do the young kids say that too? Probably.

SPEAKER_18

Proly.

SPEAKER_10

I feel like you underestimate how common a lot of these phrases still are. Like probably, like, yeah.

SPEAKER_18

Actually, Javier says probably. Really? So that was Nicolina. It's kind of like his his accent. Like, you know, when we say, what are you opposed to do? You remember that one? Opposed to do.

SPEAKER_11

What am I opposed to? What are you supposed to do? That's what we're doing. What am I supposed to do?

SPEAKER_18

Um, well, you're supposed to. By the way, um, I just was I was kind of chuckling to myself about the lieutenant governor's very long short list. Let's play it. Let's play it. And the reason why, the reason why is that, you know, why bother? You said you weren't going to make any announcements. It was rumored that she was going to pick Junior.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, and she says no, even in the uh thing. Yeah, like an emphatic no. Listen, here it is. See, here we go again. People are gonna start.

SPEAKER_17

This is news.

SPEAKER_00

It's news. It's news that rhymes with snooze. Hi everyone. I want to jump on here and share a quick and exciting update on my campaign. But first and most importantly, early voting ended today. So I need each and every one of you to get out and vote on Tuesday. As I shared after today's debate, I will make a final decision on who my lieutenant governor will be after I win the nomination. My team and I have compiled our list of potential candidates based on the following criteria. They must be rock solid conservatives, someone who supports President Trump and fights for the American First Agenda. They must be business-minded, someone who understands the private sector and not a career politician. They must be a person of strong faith, someone who understands the value that our party and our nation hold dear. To be very clear, as I've said before, and will say again, Henry D. McMaster Jr. will not be my running mate. My list for consideration as the next Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina is as follows: Joe Semsar, a successful business leader and Trump appointee. Adam Morgan, Jordan Pace, and Patrick Hatton, true conservatives, warriors who will fight to limit government. Tommy Pope, a respected political leader and prosecutor, Tyler Servant and Hood Temple, two people who work at the intersection of business and local politics. And Case Britton and James Teeples, two important voices from the Grand Strand and the Low Country. Any one of these conservative leaders will make an outstanding lieutenant governor. I look forward to having transparent and fruitful conversations with all of them. So again, I need you all to get on and vote Pamela Ebbett for governor next Tuesday. Polls are open, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Together, we can deliver a big win for President Trump and for our state. Thank you and God bless.

SPEAKER_11

I just sent a message, a direct message to Adam Morgan.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, great.

SPEAKER_11

Do you know you were on the list? Care to comment?

SPEAKER_18

Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

So we'll see if he'd like to.

SPEAKER_18

I'm interested because I see the two of them as like Clashing. Totally opposite.

SPEAKER_11

More than, you know, but I maybe it's maybe it's opposite day. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. Can you has that ever happened before? Where you're like a candidate for lieutenant governor on one person's ticket, and then weeks later you're on another one?

SPEAKER_18

I guess there's a first for everything.

SPEAKER_11

I'm just curious.

SPEAKER_18

What do you think about that, Quinturne?

SPEAKER_10

What about jumping ship all of a sudden?

SPEAKER_18

Well, he they didn't win, so he's free. He's a free agent. And so I he wrote nice things about her. He wrote nice things about everybody. But Wilson already had a running mate, Mike Rickenbach, and he announced to him early on. I hear something I didn't know. Correct me if I'm wrong.

SPEAKER_11

You're wrong.

SPEAKER_18

But I believe Alan Wilson is adopted. And I believe Mike Rickenbach is adopted.

SPEAKER_11

I I don't think I ever knew that.

SPEAKER_18

I think they're both adopted children. I think that's awesome. Because it's a great story about adoption.

SPEAKER_11

Sure is.

SPEAKER_18

And I didn't know that Mike Rickenbach was born. He wrote this amazing post that he was born to a 14-year-old girl who was put in foster care, adopted, and look at what he has achieved in his life. As a businessman, as a family man, as a man of faith, as a public servant, because he serves in the Senate. He's a wonderful person. And I was like, what a great story. And the reason why I say that is because a lot of people are picking on him because he's from Ohio originally. So they were like, you know, he's you know, he's not from here. Um and now there's this whole thing about what what Alan Wilson said during the debate. He he they said, say something nice about each c each uh your opponent. Remember when they did that with Hillary Clinton and and Trump?

SPEAKER_15

Yes.

SPEAKER_18

Um but they did that with Alan Wilson and uh Pam Evit, and Alan Wilson said something like, and um, you know, it's really nice that she decided to move here from Ohio and raise her family and kids and realize this how and he got and so now there's this whole thing like transplants for Pam going on out there. Yeah, trying to rile up the people who who moved here who are are I listen, I'm I'm a transplant. I am not offended. I'm a transplant? Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

I there are people that who were born here, like and their families go back hundreds of years, basically. Uh and and a few of them are still. I'm a little jealous of that. Like I like to love that. Yeah, I have to.

SPEAKER_18

I love having that history. What about you, Quinter?

SPEAKER_10

Um I'm a transplant, yeah. I mean, I'd I've been here for most of my life, but my parents are. My sister is the only one in my immediate family who's even born down here.

SPEAKER_18

Really?

SPEAKER_11

And some of those people that we just mentioned will still slam in and look at you very uh what's the word I'm looking for? Condescending way. So you are not one of us, kind of. Yeah. It's very few. But there are other people, and I say like Rebel John, who is one of those individuals who has a history here that goes back probably hundreds of years. Yeah. And he says, no, that knows his history. Yes, knows everything.

SPEAKER_18

Knows South Carolina history.

SPEAKER_11

Yes, he's very knowledgeable about all of that. And he's the first one almost that, you know, since got getting into radio here, at least on this side of the uh the street, uh, who said, No, no, no, you're welcome here. We love you. You have the same ideals, the same, you know, the same uh that's what really matters. And that is what matters. And he said this too. He said, Midwestern people have we we embrace them, uh, think a little more than sometimes the abrasive folks that are from other parts of the the country.

SPEAKER_18

So we just sound abrasive.

SPEAKER_11

He didn't say anything about New York. Whatever. But apparently apparently you felt like I was pointing the finger at you.

SPEAKER_17

New York, my grandstrand.

SPEAKER_18

I didn't say it. Listen, forget about it. You're gonna love us. You gotta love us. Listen to you.

SPEAKER_11

Listen to me.

SPEAKER_18

You love our pizza, you love our bagels. What else do you want? No, we toast coffee. We toast our coffee. No, don't touch the bagels.

SPEAKER_11

Yes, I'm gonna come.

SPEAKER_18

No.

SPEAKER_11

Let me touch the bagels because I can't wait to put them in.

SPEAKER_18

Toast in them. Untoasted bagels. I'm gonna sound like some big from the middle. Oh, never mind.

SPEAKER_11

Oh no, yeah, you betch. I'm gonna toast them and stuff. Yeah, I gotta toast the bagels.

SPEAKER_18

Who toast bagels? It was sacrilege every day. I'll take it toasted. What? Me. Come on. I had a bagel store briefly.

SPEAKER_11

I don't understand.

SPEAKER_10

Wow, what in the time? I had a bagel store briefly.

SPEAKER_11

I don't understand why the risky chicken failed. I only admonished every customer. You're gonna walk to the bagel! No! Never mind, ma'am. I'll go somewhere.

SPEAKER_18

Don't even ask. Don't ask. No, you can't have it toasted. It just came out of the oven.

SPEAKER_10

If they ask for it toasted, you point to a gun hanging on the wall. You would like to rethink that?

SPEAKER_17

I'll pull my jacket back. You want to rethink that order, sir?

SPEAKER_10

You have the knife spread for the cream cheese. You're just brandishing it like. No, go on. Really?

SPEAKER_11

Toasted? Good morning, ma'am. What would you like for breakfast? And yes, I'm caring.

SPEAKER_17

But I remember this. I have this one, I had this one customer named Jack. And he's he would come up to the register, put his, spread his legs, and put his hands on the table and be like, all right, begin the interrogation.

SPEAKER_18

Because I'm like, how would you like your eggs? How many eggs do you want? You want it fried, scrambled, or over easy?

unknown

And he'd be like, begin the interrogation.

SPEAKER_18

Because I would always say, Don't come up and order your sandwich. I gotta go in order of the clover. You know? And if you tell me you want it toasted at the beginning, it's not until the end. So he would just say, begin the interrogation.

SPEAKER_17

Begin the interrogation.

SPEAKER_18

Okay, I digress.

SPEAKER_11

Here's Chrissy. Oh. Uh oh, somebody called you a bagel Nazi. But Chrissy agrees with you. I never had to toast my bagel in New York and Long Island because they were so fresh here in Myrtle Beach. I need to toast. They're not the same.

SPEAKER_18

And then when they would say double toasted, oh my God, I would totally lose it.

SPEAKER_11

What do you do? Hand them a hockey puck. There you go.

SPEAKER_10

Next month I'm visiting New York, actually. So I'm gonna see. I'll get toasted. Um I'm going to Brooklyn. Yeah.

SPEAKER_18

That's amazing. What part of Brooklyn? Um I was born in Canarsey.

SPEAKER_10

I do not know exactly what part, but my friend lives there, and uh I'm visiting because it's gonna be uh my anniversary coming up. So me. Anniversary? Yeah, with my girlfriend. Oh, I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_05

Is she from Canada?

SPEAKER_10

No. She goes to a different radio station. You wouldn't know her.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_18

What is really? What's her name?

SPEAKER_10

Five years. Five years? Yeah.

SPEAKER_18

And have you put a ring on it?

SPEAKER_10

No, not yet.

SPEAKER_18

What are you wasting time for? I'm broke. Oh, that doesn't mean you can't put a ring on it.

SPEAKER_10

All right, so yeah, she'll find this clip and hound me about that for the rest of the time.

SPEAKER_11

You can't make a girl wait around. Hey, um, are you going to Manhattan at any point in time? Almost certainly. Okay. You need here's the thing. I had I had never couldn't remember the exact streak, some terrible numbers. 23rd Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan. You have to go stand in that corner and take a picture, please. Which corner? It says 28th Avenue Avenue. I know, but which corner?

SPEAKER_18

There's four corners.

SPEAKER_11

23rd Street in Manhattan.

SPEAKER_18

Like under the sign.

SPEAKER_11

Uh yeah, under the sign that has that.

SPEAKER_10

That's fine. Please do that for me. If you do. Places to go, NYC, and my phone app. Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

23rd Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan.

SPEAKER_18

I would avoid horse-drawn carriages at all costs.

SPEAKER_10

Oh my god, I know.

SPEAKER_18

We've had two major horrific stories happen.

SPEAKER_10

Fresh out of high school, I went on a trip with my friends to New York or all up north, and we visited New York for a day. And I was the idiot that was like, you know what? We're right out of high school. Let's get a horse-drawn carriage around Central Park. It'll be fun. And we all sat there, head in our hands, going, We wasted so much money and they hurt the horses.

SPEAKER_18

And and don't get on any of those uh human-powered rickshaws.

SPEAKER_10

No, never.

SPEAKER_18

They or the bicycle ones, they rip you off royally. It's so funny.

SPEAKER_11

Here's the uncropped photo. Oh, you gotta send it to them. Standing on that corner is where they took that's uncropped. Now they cropped it real tight in and they put that on their album cover. And what I'm talking about is the dress to kill album cover from Kiss. Instead of dressed like the superheroes and the big, you know, whatever, they dress like mobsters.

SPEAKER_10

I'll find three other men and make them wear that face pant. You don't have to do that. You can just picture you, selfie, pointing at the signs. That would be great.

SPEAKER_18

What's your girlfriend saying?

SPEAKER_10

Um she says she wants to remain anonymous, but I'll show you. She's my background.

SPEAKER_18

Oh. Okay. Is she a fellow theater girl?

SPEAKER_10

Uh no, does art uh in college or Charleston? Or just recently graduated, but does art in Charleston to remain anonymous.

SPEAKER_11

Her name is Jane. Jane Doe.

SPEAKER_18

All right. I see your Pam Evit. I'm gonna raise you a Wilson when we come back.

SPEAKER_09

The Liz Callaway Show with Nick Summers.

SPEAKER_18

Stand by.

SPEAKER_09

We'll be back in a few.

SPEAKER_18

All right. I'm gonna tell you about ghost building products and services. Get your mind on your gutters. That's what I say. Um, because a lot of times there's a lot of things in the gutters, and that would include trees. I know people have so much dirt and everything in their gutters that it's actually they actually have trees growing out of it. I'm telling you, you have to get a free gutter inspection from Suncoast Building Products and Services to make sure your gutters are servicing your home the way it needs to be serviced. It keeps your home healthy. If they're clogged, water can back up and rot the wood on the side of your home, or get in your attic and cause mold or cause cracks in your foundation. If the water is constantly pouring down in the same spot year after year after year, disturbing flower beds, overwatering certain areas, uh, throwing out the uh mulch and the rocks. And so get with them. They can install gutters, repair them, install gutter guards. They did that for us. They did an amazing job. And we saved over $3,000 on the gutter guards from the I because I got I priced, I priced it. Um and that's what they do. They give you a free estimate and free gutter inspection. Go to Suncoast Building Products.com.

Two men and a truck. And if he does, two men and a truck can do that. Can do that for you. They move people up and down the eastern seaboard all around town. They can help you move your stuff to the junkyard, the storage unit, maybe even the donation center. Hey, if you need help packing and unpacking or with packing materials, or you know, you're just overwhelmed by the thought of moving, get them involved early on. They help you with all the logistics, the planning, the timeline, and by the way, they treat you like you are their grandmother. What does that mean? That means you're going to be treated so kindly and they're going to say, no, no, no, no. We got this. We'll we'll take care of that for you. And if you have like those oddball things like that giant painting over the fireplace, you're like, I don't know how to pack this without like say they'll help you. They'll provide, they'll have a strategy, and they will get your stuff to the next destination in one piece, and your stress level will be nil. I'm telling you, they've moved me more than seven times, and they're awesome. Even if you're building a home and it's not ready yet, but you gotta move out, they have a solution for that too. Go to twomenandatruck.com.

SPEAKER_22

Ms. Callaway and Nick Summers. We told you we'd be back.

SPEAKER_18

So I picked up my guitars from the Guitar Center just in time for Father's Day.

SPEAKER_11

The music store, Sound Systems Incorporated on 544. Love them.

SPEAKER_18

So they were really great. Um, so I have this four-string banjo from the 1920s. Wow. And I said to Javi, I said, Do you realize this banjo is a hundred years old? Still not older than Don. Still not older than Don. But that is amazing. And they were surprised that they're that the ivory tuners, is that what you call them? Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

They were ivory, yes.

SPEAKER_18

Still intact, no problem. The uh the thing is that I guess my great uncle Ralphie uh could not find a four-string um tailpiece, or I think you called it a tailpiece. Yeah. And he couldn't find that. Um so he put a five-string on it so he could play it.

SPEAKER_11

And um those are more common, that's why.

SPEAKER_18

Yeah, and it's a Gibson five. Um so and then he did something with the uh the neck. He did some gluing. It was better than duct tape, I'll tell you that, because he's a duct duct tape king. Uh but yeah, so he did some uh gluing that kind of was trying to repair it. But other than that, uh it's kind of a cool piece of art. A cool piece of history. So I was thinking, I was like, maybe I can maybe I can give it to your girl and she can make art out of it. Out of the bandrone and put it up on the wall as a piece of family history.

SPEAKER_11

I've got a mandolin from my grandmother from the forties or fifties. Mandolin, wow. And the case is almost deteriorating. In my case, it's barely there. The mandolin. I'll never get rid of that. That is a beautiful handcrafted edition.

SPEAKER_18

Well, a lot of people make art out of these things.

SPEAKER_11

Have you seen put things on? I used to have a guitar clock that somebody made out of a cheap guitar and they put a clock in the middle. Oh, yeah. And it was really cool looking.

SPEAKER_18

That is cool. Yeah. They had a lot of beautiful guitars there. But my Almond sun, what is it? Sunburst? Is that what it's called?

SPEAKER_11

Uh Heritage, yeah. Um I told you, I fell I fell in love with that guitar right away as soon as I saw it.

SPEAKER_18

Everybody's falling in love with it.

SPEAKER_11

It's a great guitar. Yeah.

SPEAKER_18

He said it's probably from 89, but my dad probably got it in 94. I told you it was like. He had brochures. He had brochures in there that were dated 94. Um and he had I didn't realize it. I might have, but I forgot. There's a guitar strap in there. Cool. Um, my dad's guitar strap. So I thought that was kind of cool.

SPEAKER_11

For people that don't know, Heritage Guitars took over the old Kalamazoo, Michigan plant, which, if you know anything about guitar history, is originally where the Gibson Guitar Company was. So they're basically Gibsons. A lot of times they they use the same wood that was, I mean, when the company moved, yeah. They just kind of left a lot of stuff there and sold it to these people.

SPEAKER_26

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_11

And one or two of the Luthiers from Gibson stayed behind to make the heritages. So there's a lot of heritage and history in those guitars. A lot of people love them. And they're still USA made. Very small.

SPEAKER_18

Do you know of a famous famous artist that plays that guitar in particular? I know I asked Chris too, and he didn't know. And he goes, just do searching. Yeah. But um I just wanted to hear it like in action. But I did find one video of a guy showing all of the features of all of the knobs because I didn't realize what those knobs did. Um and they changed the sound of the guitar.

SPEAKER_11

Here's what it is former senior Gibson employee stayed behind basically in Kalamazoo when Gibson moved to Tennessee, Nashville, uh, and founded in 1985.

SPEAKER_18

I'm surprised they didn't take all their like proprietary things like tools and wood. The material they spent money on.

SPEAKER_11

Are you ready to hear? I don't know. Some of the famous I didn't know the CV.

SPEAKER_18

Oh, okay, good.

SPEAKER_11

That's why I had to look it up.

SPEAKER_18

Yeah.

SPEAKER_11

Uh some names you don't know. Iconic Jazz Master plays the signature heritage uh Super KB Hollowbody, Kenny Burnell, Roy Clark. Oh. Yes, Alex Skolnick, uh, acclaimed jazz metal guitar player, Gary Moore, incredible blues and hard rock player.

SPEAKER_18

Okay, so here's the thing that Chris told me over at Sound Systems.

SPEAKER_11

Alvin Lee, Jimmy Page, Peter Frampton, and Carlos Santana. All have played. All have played Heritage's guitars and have them in their arsenal.

SPEAKER_18

I said that to you. Do you is this the guitar Carlo Santana plays? Remember I asked you that?

SPEAKER_11

Yes, and I said no, he's normally now known for the uh Paul Reed Smith guitars. I didn't know that he also played guys.

SPEAKER_18

I've seen this. That's what it reminds me of when I saw it. When I saw this guitar, I knew that. But I never I can't tell guitars on stage like you can. But you know what? He told me, Chris told me that what do you call them? A flat string? He's like, I really wanted to put the flat strings on here. I flat wound? Yeah, flat wound strings. And he says, I really wanted to put those on. And I really thought about it. And he said, but I put the whatever.

SPEAKER_11

Regular round wound.

SPEAKER_18

And he said, because the flat wound will be easier on your fingers and gives it the more jazzy sound. Soft.

SPEAKER_11

I was just gonna say jazz, yeah.

SPEAKER_18

So he said, I put the other ones on, but you can easily switch them. I mean, can I easily switch them? I don't know. That'd be like I'd have to bring them there to be switched.

SPEAKER_11

Or give them to me.

SPEAKER_18

Oh, okay. You know how to switch string strings. But but he said that they're they're a little more money, but they last twice as long and they give a deeper, like a softer.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, it's a real warm kind of tone to it.

SPEAKER_18

So I didn't know. What would you what what strings would you put on that guitar?

SPEAKER_11

It depends what you're using it for. If you're gonna be playing some, you know.

SPEAKER_18

I'm not playing anything.

SPEAKER_11

Some well, I'm just saying, if you're gonna do like a rock and blues kind of thing like a Santana or Jimmy Page type thing, you know, I would go the round one. But if you're gonna do like true jazz and really, I mean totally clean, warm tube amp sounding, yeah. He flat on.

SPEAKER_18

He said listen to the difference, and I go, oh, so that sound of when you're moving your fingers up and down, the frets, that would be gone pretty much.

SPEAKER_11

Yeah, absolutely.

SPEAKER_18

I don't know.

SPEAKER_11

Someone just popped in and said Slash and Joe Walsh have also used them. So there you go.

SPEAKER_18

Oh I was unaware. I want to look, I want to hear videos of them playing The Heritage. I just want to let me look one up for the first time. I mean, I would love to see a car which songs Carlos Santana played uh The Heritage on. Um yeah. And I was thinking, do you strum it or do you use a pick?

SPEAKER_11

Depends. There are some people who do uh my dad had these things that had like cool different styles. You can do country stuff with that. Um bluegrass, obviously. Oh, well, there you go.

SPEAKER_18

Yeah, he was. All right. Do you know anything about guitars?

SPEAKER_11

I'll look up some fun stuff for much.

SPEAKER_18

Not much? Okay. All right, when we come back, I'm gonna play the um the Alan Wilson clip. Yes.

SPEAKER_11

You know what we have now, so get it ready.

SPEAKER_09

The Liz Callaway Show with Nick Summers is coming back. We are WTKN.

SPEAKER_18

All right, Nikki Noodle. Hey, listen, coming up in the well, let's see, what time do I want to do it?

SPEAKER_11

Let me know.

SPEAKER_18

8:30. Got it. Let's write it down. 8:30, we're gonna announce our Circle K winner at 8:30.

SPEAKER_11

So is this the 820 break or the 835 break? The 820 break.

SPEAKER_18

Okay, the 820 break. Write it down. Um, yeah, because we're gonna have Nick pick a winner. Me? Yeah, don't pick a loser now. We only want you to pick winners.

SPEAKER_11

Oh, that'll be hard. Yeah. Okay, no problem.

SPEAKER_18

All right, so tell them what how it works, Nikki.

SPEAKER_11

Uh, if you didn't know what we were talking about, we're talking about Circle K and it's our Grand Strand gas giveaway. We've teamed up with Circle K all Ori and Georgetown County locations. You can stop on in there twice a day. They allow you to do this twice a day. You can stop as many times as you want, but twice a day. Make sure you look for that QR code that's on the display. It'll either have Liz's face on it or it'll have our logo on it. Scan that baby, and you're entered in to win the weekly prize, which is a $100 gas card. Or Circle K gift card, if you will. You don't even have to use it for gas. Then wait, it gets better because we keep all those entries through the entire summer. Uh it'll end on the 31st of August on September 2nd. You and I, Liz, will be drawing the grand prize winner and tell them what they get for the grand prize. I mean, the $100 a weekend's great for a year. Yeah. Can you imagine that? Circle K. Just go to the website, look. I mean, there's a location near you, I guarantee it. But if you want to look out and check out the locations, Circle K.com. Also make sure you download the app, become a member of the Inner Circle, and you can get deals. Advance warning on deals.

SPEAKER_18

I hit my four.

SPEAKER_11

I do.

SPEAKER_18

Because my next fill-ups. The next 40 cents off. 40 cents off.

SPEAKER_11

See, it's stuff like that. They give you little notifications and you can manage the notifications. Don't worry. It's not a, you know, in your face kind of app. It's really simple. Uh, and you can just check out the different deals, and they'll just let you know hey, stop in today, you know, deals on stuff you're gonna get anyway, and they let you know when those deals are. It's a great app uh and lets you in on the inner circle, if you will. So, Circle K, we have teamed up with them. The Grand Strand Gas Giveaway, along with Circle K and us right here on Talk 94.5 and 106.7 and 1240 a.m.

SPEAKER_09

Local comprehensive news headlines right now with WMBS only on Talk 94.5. And in North Myrtle Beach, now on 106.7.

SPEAKER_06

From the WMBF newsroom, I'm Jake Reyes. In your crime alert, a judge denied a bond reduction for the man accused of shooting at a Myrtle Beach LGBTQ nightclub. 37-year-old Timothy Truett Jr. stays behind bars on a more than $312,000 bond. Police say he fired shots at Pulse Ultra Club back in April, leaving the windows of the owner's SUV shattered with bullet holes. Truett faces multiple charges, including hate intimidation. Staying in Myrtle Beach, a dangerous intersection has Crescent Cove residents frustrated after their developer promised them a traffic light. Polt Holmes says a light would go up at Riverview in Highway 707. Once the development reached 240 homes, residents say that number is long past. One couple who lives there says the daily commute keeps them on edge. Polt Holmes now says another business, not yet built, will be responsible for building the light. We found no traffic light projects listed on SCDOT's website. From the WMVF newsroom, I'm Jake Reyes.

SPEAKER_18

If Garage Kings does it, did you did you see the finished products of their garages? You could live in it. I don't know if that's allowed, but if you have them come and fix the floor, right? All the cracks, the dirt, the grime, all of that's gone, right? They treat the whole floor, sand it down. They poured a polyaspartic floor, which is far superior than an epoxy floor. So don't even bother with that. And they can even put that on your driveway, on your patio. I mean, it's beautiful with the fleck and the oh, it's beautiful. Sparkle, as much sparkle as you want. And you can even have them provide you a white glove service, which is like helping you get rid of whatever you don't want and solving those problems of cleaning out and organizing your garage once and for all. It's like a burning off of you, right? When you know that everything has a place and you got rid of all the junk you don't need. And uh they will help you even with the, you know, you need installation in there, you need painting, you need to finish the walls, you need storage solutions, slat walls, workshops, cabinets, uh, shelving over the garage, shelving over the garage door, maybe you want a garage door screen or you need to fix your garage door and get a new one. They can help you with the whole entire process. That's why they're amazing. And you can see their garage transformations. They could do as much as you want or as little as you want. And the basic thing that they do is the floor, and they're masters at that. So if you want to have Garage Kings come over and give you a free estimate, go to Myrtlebeach.garageKings.com, click on the uh make an appointment button or call 888 Garages.

SPEAKER_09

When nothing seems certain, one thing is the Liz Callaway show with Nick Summers every weekday morning right now.

SPEAKER_18

All right, we'll be announcing our Circle K winner at 820 something. So stay tuned.

SPEAKER_11

Knowing us, it'll be close to 8:30.

SPEAKER_18

All right, and I wanted to play for you as promised.

SPEAKER_11

Yes.

SPEAKER_18

Because I'm that kind of girl. I keep my promises.

SPEAKER_11

Yes, you are.

SPEAKER_18

All right, so I'm gonna go back here. Hold on a second. I gotta re-rack it. Re-rack it. Here we go. You ready? Alan Wilson talking on South Carolina ETV.

SPEAKER_19

50% didn't vote for her, and everyone else in this race, except for one, has endorsed me, and I believe that we have a broader appeal to the voters of South Carolina. I understand that, and I'm talking about Ori County. Um 50% of Ori County didn't support her. And I believe that our appeal is going to be broader. I'm I've been very good at building coalitions with other candidates and other communities supporting those candidates, and I believe that we're going to fare a lot better on uh Tuesday, the 23rd. But also, we've done so well across the state of South Carolina. I mean, we've taken, I mean, look, the other side's campaign has been about tearing me down. For me, my campaign is about lifting up South Carolina, building up our families, and looking forward to the future. And I think that message is resonating with people all over the state, not just here in Ory County.

SPEAKER_18

All right. What do you think?

SPEAKER_11

Uh I have to say that I've noticed because I follow him. I follow all the candidates I did, uh obviously. Uh on Twitter? Yeah, on Twitter, on X, sorry, just to clarify. Um, that's where I get a lot of my information. And I and I have noticed that he is posting a lot and not just like claiming something. What he does is he grabs the post from the person who's endorsing him and he'll say another endorsement pickup or another, you know, inroad made or another whatever. And hey, there's a ton of people. That's either good or bad, depending on your point of view. All I'm saying is that there are a lot of people.

SPEAKER_18

People are being putting their name behind him.

SPEAKER_11

A lot of people are putting their name. Right. And then you've got, again, staying in my algorithm of South Carolina politics, you've got a lot of people that uh listen, I gotta be honest with you. That that video dropping these names, it didn't go over like I think she planned it to. And I'm not slamming her, I'm telling you what the people are saying.

SPEAKER_18

What are the comments?

SPEAKER_11

The comments like, oh, exciting campaign update with a clown face. Uh says after voters already started casting ballots in the runoff against A.G. Alan Wilson, Evet drops a video listing a grab bag of potential lieutenant governor names instead of picking one actual running mate, like a serious candidate, and then goes on to list all these people. It's like, come on.

SPEAKER_18

A lot of people were saying, I don't want to.

SPEAKER_11

That's what they're saying.

SPEAKER_18

I agree with that because um a lot of people were criticizing that her for not picking a lieutenant governor prior, and uh the the people in the political political no category uh say, you know, basically parroting what she's sh she's been putting out there, like, you know, I'm in the primary, you're voting for me, my lieutenant governor pick shouldn't mean anything. I don't need a lieutenant governor pick to to win. It could harm me, it could hurt me, it could, you know, it could be good. Um now I don't know if Mike Rickenbach coming on board with Alan Wilson as early as what December?

SPEAKER_11

It was early, yeah. Almost out of the gate.

SPEAKER_18

Yeah. And I don't know if that hurt him or harmed him, but you know what it showed me? Transparency.

SPEAKER_11

And not afraid to take make a decision and stick with it. You and I both love that.

SPEAKER_18

I love a decisive leader who I know where they fall on an issue. And case in point, gambling, casinos. There was no decision that she made. She said she would consider a five-star, and she mentioned some name, Greenbrier, Greenberger, I don't know what she said. Um, but she did not, she said, I would entertain and see how it this and that, and and um said she would put it to the people. That was a non-answer, which basically told me that she has no you're electing you're when you elect someone to office, you're picking someone to be you. It's like it's like this. If I said to the Quintern, where do you where do you want to go to lunch, Quinter?

SPEAKER_10

And you say, McAllister.

SPEAKER_18

That's that we just must say. Um Irish thing. Yeah, right. Pick it. Um I would say, like, you know, do you you know when you have that conversation with someone, where would you like to go for lunch? I don't know, wherever you want to go. And then they say, Well, where do you want to go? Well, what do you feel like? I don't know. I'll just have whatever you're having. That is the most annoying conversation to have with somebody.

SPEAKER_10

That is most lunch conversations I have with any given group of people.

SPEAKER_18

Okay. But if someone said, you know what, I'd really love pizza tonight, great, I'd love pizza too. What pizza place would you like to go to? You know what? I want to go to Scatos, because they have the best Sicilian pizza. Do you know what Sicilian pizza is? Well, you gotta go to Scato's and go have it pizza. Isn't there a thinner one? No. Um and so you go have Sicilian pizza when you get to Brooklyn, and then you'll be like, oh my gosh, Sicilian pizza.

SPEAKER_10

Anyway. It's gonna be the only pizza you'll ever need for the rest of your life.

SPEAKER_18

For the rest of your life. But anyway.

SPEAKER_10

That is not true.

SPEAKER_18

Yes, it is. Anyway, go back, go back, go back. It is so annoying to have a conversation with somebody when they don't have an opinion.

SPEAKER_15

Listen.

SPEAKER_18

You're voting for someone to be you in government.

SPEAKER_15

Yes.

SPEAKER_18

So I want you to say, yay, I'm for casinos. I've done my research and it's great for the community, or nay, I've done my research and there's plenty of it, that it creates a slum, a slum ring around the casino. It doesn't uplift the community, it actually depresses the community and it attracts lots of other negative social impacts like drugs, prostitution, sex trafficking, and all of that, and wasteful spending and and blue light hypnosis on people, okay? And it robs people, and it creates rips in families, and gambling is the devil. Okay, we all know that. And so I'm just saying, like, if you have an opinion on something, make a decision and give somebody to vote for. What is she for? Well, the people of smoking they want six-week RP bills, they're happy with that, so I'm happy with that. That was her answer. And then when I asked, what about hospitals demanding that workers get an like an experimental vaccine? Well, I'm not gonna tell businesses what to do because Republicans don't do that, they can get another job somewhere else. That is not a decisive answer. And these are the things that we heard over and over and over again. I can't vote for that.

SPEAKER_11

You had Ralph Norman claiming that there's a big uh uh uh donor on uh Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evitt's uh I can't remember his name. I have a club. Cheat him or whatever, or I can't remember the guy's name. I don't don't quote me. I'm sorry. I'm trying to do this from memory, and I was just trying to look it up. And and he has reiterated we do not want to become the Las Vegas of the Southeast, despite Pam Evits what they want. They're donors.

SPEAKER_18

So I have that clip. Did you want me to play it? What time we got here? Yeah, do it, quick. Let me see if I can uh be the next Las Vegas. 60% didn't vote. Oh, wait, hold on. The other one's playing at the same time. Oh boy, come on, Grandma. I'm grandma. Come on, Grandma. Look at your Sicilian radio. Here we go.

SPEAKER_01

Ready and be the next Las Vegas uh in the South. It will be that way if Pamela Ebbett has her way. Uh and when I talked to her, it was like you're talking about tap dancing around the issue of gambling.

SPEAKER_19

She'd say only five stars.

SPEAKER_01

She said that. She's telling me she says, Well, if it brings hotels. I said, Pam, I've been around a while. Uh anything can bring a hotel, but get bodies there. You can build a hotel. So I appreciate your stand on that, and uh means a lot. That's a back gambling is a backdoor tax. And when you look at the contributions that Wallace and others have given her, it's clear. It's just clear. So thank you. Thank you for that.

SPEAKER_18

So there you go. If you don't want casinos, if you want a definitive answer on that and vote for that, or vote for life, you know, when I think about it, that 14-year-old girl that became pregnant, we have no idea how she became pregnant, had an abortion, we wouldn't have a Mike Rickenbaugh.

SPEAKER_11

True.

SPEAKER_18

Her his mother chose life. And he and he then was able to live and create this amazing life filled with faith, family, and public service. So I I I think that I think that's incredible, actually. Could you imagine being 14 years old and finding yourself pregnant? I mean, that is amazing that that young woman was able to have that baby, give up her baby for adoption, and look at what's happening. I mean, I just think that's such a great story. And uh, I actually shared that story of Mike Rickenbach on our page.

SPEAKER_11

And what a true testament to life prevails always.

SPEAKER_18

That's amazing.

SPEAKER_11

That that that is action it's louder than words and drama than a testimony of a few. And it's good enough, and we got enough, and let's move on.

SPEAKER_18

Yeah, just to get rid of it. Make your life easy.

SPEAKER_11

I'm standing here today because my birth mother chose life.

SPEAKER_18

Yeah. That is so powerful. That's it. It really is. Mic drop. Yeah. No pun intended. A Rick and Bach drop.

SPEAKER_15

Right!

SPEAKER_18

Hey, thank you!

SPEAKER_09

This is the Liz Callaway show with Nick Summers back in a bit.

SPEAKER_18

Cabinets. No one likes to talk about cabinets. But I do.

SPEAKER_11

I look at my kitchen cabinets and I'm like, oh please. No, I keep like, there's this little bottle and I have no idea what's in it. I keep rubbing it, hoping a genie's gonna pop out and give me some new cabinets.

SPEAKER_18

Well, I have the perfect solution for you. And you know what? I was driving over to Sound Systems on Highway 544, and I was coming over uh the uh, you know, the uh exit ramp on 31. I said, There it is, cabinets in stock. You can see it right there, 31, 544, clear as day. Stop in. A lot of people think it's just a warehouse, but I it is a warehouse, but it's also a showroom with great people inside. And there's a family in there, family-owned business for more than 40 years, solid wood cabinets, transparent pricing. You're gonna save more than 50% off the big box store pricing, which is amazing because you're gonna get far superior cabinets.
