SPEAKER_01

Here comes the Liz Callaway go with next summer. Liz Callaway, Nick Summers. Picking up your wake up with new opinion and insight every weekday morning on Talk 94.56.7.

SPEAKER_05

It is 6.07 on the Liz Callaway Show with Nick Summers. Welcome to your Friday, June 5th. All right. Welcome back. How are you?

SPEAKER_04

How am I?

SPEAKER_05

How was yesterday?

SPEAKER_04

Well, it's lonely in here. I know. You know? When you're not in.

SPEAKER_05

I always feel so terrible.

SPEAKER_04

No, don't feel terrible. It's just, you know, I mean, yeah. Oh, look at somebody just uh posted a big giant that's pretty big uh sign outside the store saying win a hundred dollar circle K gift card.

unknown

Woo!

SPEAKER_04

Enter in store, and it's got a big giant logo there on the bottom. That's Mike the AR guy. Thank you.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Oh, oh my gosh. We had to pick a winner today. Yeah, I knew we had time. Oh my gosh, you should have reminded me. I have to pull up the list.

SPEAKER_04

We have plenty of time.

SPEAKER_05

All right.

SPEAKER_04

We're good.

SPEAKER_05

It's Friday all day. We have plenty of time.

SPEAKER_04

I know. Hey, uh, somebody just popped in. Speaking of the uh budget blind sex line, uh, can you guys review again the two questions on the SC primary ballot? Uh we can. Uh and maybe we could even, since we're gonna have now in a candidate role, in a sense, because he's been tapped, Adam Morgan, who I I think is a really smart guy. I think he's he's got a good beat on things. You and I personally like him. That's not an endorsement. We're just saying we like the guy.

SPEAKER_05

Uh I like everything he believes in.

SPEAKER_04

Me too. So he will be.

SPEAKER_05

That might be one club I might would have, could have, if I was, would have joined.

SPEAKER_04

What, the Adam Morgan fan club?

SPEAKER_05

No. The Freedom Caucus.

SPEAKER_04

Gotcha. So maybe we can have him explain it uh because you and I have explained it, but you know, it's just yes, we agree. They word these things kind of in an ambiguous way on purpose.

SPEAKER_06

Mm-hmm.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

They're hoping to catch the people that aren't really paying attention. They are banking on low information voting.

SPEAKER_05

You know, like when we interviewed uh Rom Reddy and I asked him all those things that he was accused of. Yeah. And it was like um he discounted everything. He's like, why are they saying I'm from New York? Yeah. And he found out that's a museum. I I don't know. There's another donate anything.

SPEAKER_04

There's another Rom Reddy. And that's how they get away with it. Because it's true, Rom Reddy did donate to a New York museum. He says, I can show you. Right. I donated the only museum I ever donated to was the Ronald Reagan one, and I could show you. I was like, oh, that makes sense.

SPEAKER_05

That is so annoying.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, listen, this is what I mean.

SPEAKER_05

Where is he in the polls?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

Because if they're attacking him like that.

SPEAKER_04

New accusations on the polls.

SPEAKER_05

And there's a lot of battle between Ralph Norman's camp and Rom Reddy's camp. You know. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I saw that. Yeah. And it's like it kinda it's kind of like, well, come on, you guys are picking on my friends, you know, in a way. Yeah. I felt like that because.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I feel like that too.

SPEAKER_04

You know, without saying anything. It's just, you know, I mean Oh, wait a minute.

SPEAKER_05

MSN.com, Greenville News. Let me see here what it says. Um let's see, let's see. It says Pamela Evitt surges in South Carolina polls after Trump endorsement one hour ago. Republican candidates for South Carolina governor are trying to keep their campaign momentum up after President Donald Trump endorsed Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evitt, giving her base a boost for the primary. Five Republicans uh remain. I think Josh Kimbrell, didn't he endorse Wilson?

SPEAKER_04

Uh the last I heard he dropped out and he was weighing his options, but that was yesterday morning, and then I didn't go back to revisit the story. So it's possible.

SPEAKER_05

We need to ascertain whether that that's true. I will look it up. I think I saw that. I if I'm correct in my stupor. Um so he resigned and each of them built their campaigns around Trump supporters. Joe Jesse founder Reddy Rum ready. He all right, Trump in high heels. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Um Yes, it's true.

SPEAKER_05

It is true. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

According to WIS, Josh Kimbrell has endorsed H.E. Alan Wilson for a South Carolina governor.

SPEAKER_05

So Trafalgar did another poll after the endorsement and surveyed likely Republican voters between the 29th and the 31st, and that had Evit at 26.3, Romredy at 17.2, Wilson at 16.9, and Norman at 16.1, uh Mace is 14.8. So they left off Kimbrell, but he didn't really get that many votes anyway. So Evit's the one to catch. And um trying to see if there's any oh, and the other story was this could hurt the Evit camp. The whole Greenville County Sheriff Lewis lengthy message on Facebook. And we talked about that. That was on June 1st. Do you remember that?

SPEAKER_04

I do. I'm trying to look up this accusation that's coming from various news sources. So Which one? Um I I I need to make sure.

SPEAKER_05

So, but who's it against?

SPEAKER_04

Uh Lieutenant Governor.

SPEAKER_05

Oh.

SPEAKER_04

Current.

SPEAKER_05

Um, so the sh Greenville County Sheriff Lewis said that he had been a supporter for Attorney General Alan Wilson's campaign for governor, and in a post, he said that McMaster traded Governor McMaster traded a special sess session for redistricting for Trump endorsing Evitt. He also claimed that Evit picking McMaster's son as a running mate was part of the agreement, but Evit told reporters she is focused on upcoming primary and is not announcing a running mate. We'll we know all that. Um but then they take it another step and they say when Evett and McMaster Jr. get installed as governor and lieutenant governor, Trump will pluck Pamela Evitt out of governor, put her in the Trump administration, and allow Henry McMaster Jr. to rise to governor, making it an easy coronation for him, just like his father, to spend the rest of that term plus four years, plus another four years.

SPEAKER_04

That's true. That's what we're talking about. Okay, and remember somebody very smartly suggested that last week.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, because Trump has done it before. Yes. And he's done it before with Henry. Okay, so do we believe Fitz News? Well, the other thing uh just I want to point out was that there was another person, uh a law enforcement officer that was completely prepped, primed, vetted, cleared, retired in order to get that US uh marshal's job. But Henry said, I want my driver, my bodyguard driver, to have that position. And Trump gave that guy the position. And that left that seasoned law enforcement officer that was prepped, primed, pumped, and retired in order to get that U.S. attorney job, made the announcement he just had to get the rubber stamp, he was kicked to the curb, and this other guy got it. Now I don't know if that's true.

SPEAKER_04

I hate politics and favors and none of it involves we the people and no, it it's actually against the people. Exactly.

SPEAKER_05

And that really puts a bad taste in my mouth. It really does. If that's true. I need evidence of this stuff. I know because it is speculation, and I don't know how this guy knows about this conversation that McMaster had with Trump, although it's been speculation for quite some time prior to him even calling the special session. This was something that was that came out. I don't even know how that came out. And and for what? Nothing. Because the special session was called too late. And I think even Trump might be in on saving Clyburn's bottom. Why? Because why would Trump The deal with the devil kind of approach?

SPEAKER_04

Like, all right, you can stay there and do your nothing and complain and have your little biscuits.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, it's all sealed up here in South Carolina for the moment.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

But for the Republicans, but the thing is, is like why wouldn't Trump say, do the redistricting now, do it now, do it now. No, wait till we get home. No, do it now, do it now, no, we'll wait till we get home. Right? It's it sounds like the whole bugs money almost skit.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_04

Duck season, rabbit season. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And so they waited to the last minute. Why? Because McMaster and Clyburn are friends.

SPEAKER_04

We've been told, and we can ask, when he joins up with us at 7 30. McMaster's not the conservative we think he is.

SPEAKER_05

Well, certainly not after what we saw happen with COVID.

SPEAKER_04

There you go.

SPEAKER_05

No conservative governor acts like that.

SPEAKER_04

So do you want to hear the uh Fitz News thing? Or not? Sure. Yeah, I don't I don't know. I mean, how credible are they? Are they credible?

SPEAKER_05

Not for me to decide. Let's hear what they're saying.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, it's a pay-to-play poll padding.

SPEAKER_05

Pole padding? Oh, that's a new word.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. South Carolinians deserve better than the bought and paid for numbers from a lieutenant governor who can't even be honest about who's funding her quote unquote surge. The scandal in South Carolina Republican goober, I'm emphasizing that for a reason. Primary to replace term-limited Governor Him McMaster. Lieutenant Governor Pam Levitz, who's running in a crowded GOP field that includes rep Nancy Mace, all the ones we know, all that, uh, her had her campaign disclosed payments totaling exactly $32,575.80 to the polling firm company. The payments broke down is just over 11 on September 5th, 2025, 10,000. These are all going back to September in 2025.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, they were all labeled text messaging, not polling or survey research, and came days just before the company publicly released a poll on September 21st, 2025, showing Evitt surging to 18%, trailing Nancy Mace by just 1%, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, all this. Uh campaign finance records, public and reviewed by Fitz News, showed the expenses weren't even reported until weeks later. Evitt's actual pollster of record was Fabrizio Lee and Associates paid $61,000 earlier for a real survey, uh, for real survey work, and it wasn't disclosed uh as internal plone polling. It looked like an independent poll that just happened to drop right after she cut the checks. Going back to the other one. There is ties, says Fist News, to paying the guy at Trafalgar, all kinds of accusations. I don't know, but here's how it ends. Opponents called it out as embarrassing and corrupt. So these polls they're saying are not independent. They are sponsored. Wow. You believe what you want to believe. Just reporting what they're claiming. So interactive polls, which is a different website, not related to this story, shows Evid at did you read this one? 17 Mace at 16. Is that the one you read?

SPEAKER_05

A while ago?

SPEAKER_04

No, this was yesterday's polling. Pamela Evid at 17%, Nancy Mace at 16, Alan Wilson at 16, Ron Reddy at 14. Ralph Norman at 13, Josh Kimbrell at 1. Look at how divided we are. And not sure at 23%. Not sure is the highest. Look at how it's anybody's race. It is anybody's race. This is why we're not getting a confirmation. Because the hope is we can clear the primary in don't have to worry about it, then make the announcement. Because you have to at that point. Because if it's announced now, I feel they feel that it's not a good look. Because they already can see the internal polling. They can already see the hubbub on what? Social media. The accusations from Fitz News and all the rest of them. The lack of excitement and coverage about, well, the rumor is Henry McMaster's son. Everything is quiet. Trump drops it last Friday. We're a week. It was a week ago. We have no confirmation.

SPEAKER_05

This makes me very sad.

SPEAKER_04

No confirmation from Lieutenant Governor that he is the running mate. No. No. No official confirmation.

SPEAKER_05

No, she said, I'm not making any decisions now.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But yet weird confirmation like I think my son will make a great candidate someday. What was that? By the way, that individual that we played or that we didn't play, but we read his transcript. Later, this was on Wednesday. Later, he had audio and I played it yesterday. And everything he said that Pamela Evitt said and Henry McMaster said was right there in the audio. Saying everything that they had said. I don't know if you remember that.

SPEAKER_05

I'm trying to Yeah, I do remember it. Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Well, there was audio attached to it later in the day. He must not have had time to get through that.

SPEAKER_05

We had the the transcript. Yeah, we had transcript. And you read it to us. And I yes you played I remember Master. I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_04

I don't think it was good like that, but maybe I did. But there was audio to that, so that proved it. And it was other reporters asking questions, so there was no edits in that audio.

SPEAKER_05

You know, I'm listening to you and I'm just internalizing this information.

SPEAKER_04

I'm not claiming any of this is true. I'm reporting what they're reporting.

SPEAKER_05

But it's like it's it's almost like do you give it oxygen or do you come out and be like, here, here's all the documents, here's the transparency. No. None of that, none of your accusations are true. I mean, which how what would be your approach?

SPEAKER_04

My approach would be to address it. You've got a I don't know if it's credible or not. Responsibility to address You've got a news source out there making making allegations that you are paying a polling firm to show that you're surging. That's the accusation in a nutshell.

SPEAKER_05

Is that even allowed?

SPEAKER_04

I mean, like they they disclosed the fact that they paid this other firm who is not her polling firm and labeled it text messaging.

SPEAKER_05

No, but text messaging as in text messaging polls? You know, like I get a lot of polls via text messaging.

SPEAKER_04

So do I, and maybe that's what that is.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, they're acting like there's something creepy going on with that. And and labeling text messaging, and it's not, it's about polls. Well, a lot of polls come via text.

SPEAKER_04

Hold on. I'm confused. I think they address that. Hold on. I'm so confused. Hold on, hold on. Let me look here. Oh, it is not illegal for campaigns to pay pollsters. But the timing and the text messaging label and the independent not sponsored claim is uh and the suspiciously favorable results right afterwards make it look like classic. Make it look like classic pay to play. See what I'm saying? Going theater. Show me Buy yourself, buy yourself a lead in the public poll while pretending it's neutral.

SPEAKER_05

Show me the proof. Well look at the New York Times what they're doing to to Plattner. Yeah, Plant. I get him confused. Graham Plantner. Is it Platt Plat Prattner or Platt? Plattner, Prattner, Platt. Which one is which? It's Plattner. Plattner is the idiot up in a domestic abuse claims. He was just a bad boyfriend.

SPEAKER_04

Nope.

SPEAKER_05

Domestic abuse clan. I got the audio. No, he says, listen, I was a bad boyfriend.

SPEAKER_01

This is the Liz Callaway Show with Nick Summers back in a bit.

SPEAKER_05

Girls, you know what I mean. They grab you by the shoulders, they shake you. I can do it. They twist your arm, throws you in the bedroom, and shuts the door and says, You can't come out until you're a good girl.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So that's not normal behavior.

SPEAKER_05

He's just a bad toxic boyfriend. And you know, she kept going back to him, and her friends would text her and say, Do not go back to him. And she would just go back to him. We all know. We all know what that's like, right, ladies? All right.

SPEAKER_04

I've got a uh the hot, we've been we're being hotlined here. Oh yeah, we're being uh good morning, Liz Callaway Show. How are you? And who is this?

SPEAKER_00

Good morning. This is this is this is Keller and Diane.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

unknown

Hi.

SPEAKER_04

Hey, you're live on the air, so give us a report.

SPEAKER_00

Well, we're down here in Lulu's and Steve Ducy is here from Fox and Friends, and they're giving away a motorhome or an enter enter-to-win chance to win a motorhome. So it's really cool.

SPEAKER_05

So what do you have to do? You you had to get how did you get these tickets? Because I know they were sold out.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, well, Diane went online and uh she put our name in. I guess there was some sort of a lottery system, and both of us got registered. It was quite a process. And then we had to be here at what, four o'clock in the morning?

SPEAKER_06

Oh my gosh. We left it school.

SPEAKER_00

We left it for here by 4 30, and uh there's like 400 people here that were all uh interpunning, so we're all waiting around, and Steve Ducey is about maybe 15 feet away from me, waiting for the next uh segment on Foxy Strength.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, great report. Thanks, Bob. Can you put Ducey on?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, just tell him. Tell him. I'll go over and tell them how important you guys are. Maybe he'll uh come over here and speak with you.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, tell him Ainsley once gave us a shout-out.

SPEAKER_04

That's right. And I have the video.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's right, that's right. You know what I'm struck by? We've already got pictures of them.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, okay. Well, we're gonna watch you on TV, so go enjoy.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, thank you. And if he wants to go on the air with us, call us back.

SPEAKER_05

Go be lens licensed. Okay, all right, okay.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_05

Well, let's say something that he calls. A lot of people are excited about being there.

SPEAKER_04

I know. I'm I have this, uh, let's see here. Hold on.

SPEAKER_05

I think they're going to it now.

SPEAKER_04

Well, he's voting against the but I have it ready. So when they do a live report, I got it ready.

SPEAKER_05

You have it ROM ready or just ready.

SPEAKER_04

Just ready.

SPEAKER_05

Because I'm the one who's leading. Here we go.

SPEAKER_02

It's ready. Here we go! Lulu's coming for the beach! All right, we're here with Lulu's. We're gonna talk to Lulu and Lucy Buffett in just a minute, but first, I gotta introduce you to these ladies. Um, so we put we put something like 2,900 miles on uh the RV truck that we carried it around.

SPEAKER_03

Since we started in Houston, where are you guys from? Pennsylvania. So how long did you drive to get here? So, what kind of car? Ford escape. Ford escape. Wouldn't you like to escape to an RV?

SPEAKER_02

Somebody's gonna wanna kill this car and escape him! Hey, kill him! You see him?

SPEAKER_04

I missed him. I'm looking at that uh that is that's a beautiful looking RV.

SPEAKER_05

Why not? He can do it, he'll be fine. It's fine. Nah. It's fine. I don't know if I trust Javi to drive it. I don't trust me to drive it because I I fall asleep.

SPEAKER_04

I had to drive something almost that size, a big giant delivery truck in the band aids before we could afford roadies. That's big. We all took turns, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And it was just Did you take only right turns?

SPEAKER_04

Just no, just small enough where I didn't need a CDL for it. It was one of those.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. You don't need a CDL for that, right?

SPEAKER_04

No, no. But what was really funny is it was a uh potato chip and bread truck. And here we we kept thinking to ourselves, we're loading up thousands of pounds of equipment that's made for potato tricks. Potato chips and bread. How safe is this? But we went everywhere in that thing. Really? Yeah. Till the roadies cut a hole in the floor so they could pee while they were on the road because we told them no stopping. Inventive roadies.

SPEAKER_05

That's a really good idea.

SPEAKER_04

And they made they made a little trapdoor so it was they could close it, a metal trapdoor.

SPEAKER_05

Sounds a little dangerous. Well, I wouldn't be dangerous. I wouldn't be dangling at 90 miles an hour.

SPEAKER_04

Sticking my radiator hose in that thing, but you know. It worked for them. You know how we found out? Because we were driving behind them once, and it's like, oh no, it's leaking.

SPEAKER_05

No way.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so we were like beeping the horn, no cell phones, beeping the horn, beeping the horn, flashing our lights. Made them pull over and they went. And they said, No, we're not leaking. Don't be don't be mad. This is what we did, and they showed it to us like, oh, come on.

SPEAKER_05

And they did it while they were driving down the road. How did they cut it? With all their like tools?

SPEAKER_04

They cut the thing previously and had it, and then they waited till one of the stops to put the bolts on it, and then a little slide with a little clip to hold it. Anyway.

SPEAKER_05

All right. What do we think about this advisory question? Should candidates for local school boards be able to run as a candidate for the political party of their choice, just like candidates for other elected offices? I mean, I guess yes.

SPEAKER_04

I I like I said, it's kind of a nothing question in the sense that so many people do that anyway to get elected. Hence our leadership in Columbia, filled with a bunch of say it, say it.

SPEAKER_05

Rhinos.

unknown

Rhinos.

SPEAKER_05

Um, by the way.

SPEAKER_04

So they just stick an arm front of the name and oh, vote for me because I'm conservative like you, and then they get in there and next thing you know, we're saluting the communist flag.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Um, what about Board of Education chair? Daryl Ricketts or Melanie Wellens?

SPEAKER_04

Well. I mean, I we have heard We've heard that Melanie Wellens is the one to conservative. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

But I don't know anything about it. But I don't know. How do we vote? How do we vote for this? I have a District 2 vote. Meredith Kennedy or Thomas Vaughn. These are Republican. This is on the Republican ballot. Um U.S. Senate. I don't even know most of these names. Lindsey Graham is on there, of course.

SPEAKER_04

Lynch is on there.

SPEAKER_05

Lynch is on there. Patrick Herman, who's a local. He's run for office local before. He'll be on the air with us on Monday. Um, but you have Darius Mitchell, Thomas Keith Desmuks. Oh, that's not a good name. Desmukus? No, it's gotta be Desmuks.

SPEAKER_04

That can't be that. It cannot be that. It cannot be that. I picture a big rally with boxes of Kleenex. You can't do that. Don't even make me go there. I'm gonna be client.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, my Nova Cain is talking. Calvin Cowan. That's not a good name. Well. If I were to go by, like you know how they pick Super Bowl candidates by the helmet colors and uniforms. If I were to go with just names, yeah. Lindsey Graham. I mean, you know, Alex Jones is going hard against Lindsey Graham. Big time. Big time.

SPEAKER_04

Well, it's anti-Trump, which seems to be where Alex Jones has aligned himself as of late.

SPEAKER_05

Did you hear what happened with Candace Owens?

SPEAKER_04

Now what?

SPEAKER_05

Did you hear she went to Russia? I missed her. She's in Russia.

SPEAKER_04

Really?

SPEAKER_05

Did you hear this? Did they jail her? She's at a communist um convention where Putin's given the keynote.

SPEAKER_06

Why?

SPEAKER_05

I don't know. And she's meeting with this guy that his name is um he's a Russian uh Dugan.

SPEAKER_04

Boris.

SPEAKER_05

No, it's a really easy easy name. Um he's like this communist of all communists, and he wrote the book on how to destroy America. Alex Dugan, D-U-G-I-N. He's a Russian political philosopher and leading theorist of Russian Neo-Eurasianism, born into the military intelligence family. Um, and they're calling him Putin's brain. And he said that um he's supposed to be meeting with Candace Owens, or Candace Owens says she's gonna meet with him. So she said she was going on vacation and told her fans that she's going on vacation, but people followed her and found out that she was on the itinerary for this convention in Russia. She's gonna be a speaker. I don't know what she said or what she's gonna say, but she was saying that um uh she was going to be uh hopefully speaking with Dugan. Yeah. So she's a headliner. No, Putin is the headliner. Oh, here it is. The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. And she's going to be on a panel.

SPEAKER_04

Wait, economic forum run by communists. Does anyone see the irony there?

SPEAKER_05

She's gonna be on a panel with Anna Kuznetsova, a Russian politician sanctioned by the US for running a program which kidnapped Ukrainian children and trafficked them into a Russian re-education program. And she's also gonna be on with Yulia Baronovskaya, who is a sanction is sanctioned by the EU for spreading propaganda. She's there with her husband. She said she's on a Christian tour. Oh, okay. And she said that she was gonna be visiting all these churches. Okay. Yeah. Really, really, um, really troubled by it.

SPEAKER_04

I'm not surprised.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Okay, let's go. Hey, listen, coming up at uh 8 30, we're gonna announce the winner of the $100 gas card giveaway. And I posted on her talk page, I took Ruby out for a spin.

SPEAKER_04

Who?

SPEAKER_05

My Miata.

SPEAKER_04

I didn't know it had a name.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, she's Ruby Red, baby. Um, and uh my mom, this is what my mom said. I opened up the garage and Ruby was sitting in there, and she said, Oh my gosh. I didn't know they made roller skates that big. She said, That's the car your father always wanted to buy. Really? And I I had said that to Javi when I was, we walked around, we we had a uh community yard sale. And I said, I'm not bringing any money because I don't need anything and I'm not buying anything. And I walked around the corner, two houses down, and my neighbor rolls out this piana and I went, How much? And he said, five thousand dollars. I said, I'll take it. Javi's like, What? What? So I I put a couple of thousand dollars worth of work in it, but it is a beauty.
