SPEAKER_00Good morning. How are you? Good.
SPEAKER_01All right, we have another amazing world famous blue crab festival upon us. Tell us what we can expect on this beautiful weather this weekend.
SPEAKER_00I know. We just can't wait. We are ready to host everyone to come into Little River this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 16th and 17th, to the 44th annual World Famous Blue Crab Festival, and it is going to be bigger and better than ever. Wow.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so tell us a little bit about more about entertainment and uh what kind of new things are happening.
SPEAKER_00Well, let me tell you about a couple of new things that we have. Um, you know, last year it was kind of hot for the festival, and so we um made some plans to have some cooling stations inside the festival. So thanks to our partners J Air and our presenting sponsor, Vines Heating, Cooling, and Restoration, we will have air-conditioned tents for you to go in and cool off, as well as misting stations. And Seaside Furniture Galleries is providing two additional booth areas for you just to sit down and take a load off your feet and get a rest. If it's a little overwhelming sometimes walking through 297 vendors of arts and crafts and businesses and wonderful festival foods, and stay uh two days of live music featuring our headliner, Sissy in on a Sunday afternoon.
SPEAKER_01All right. And what else can people expect regarding the the food that they can enjoy?
SPEAKER_00Well, well, we have um printed up special, you know, maps of the festival. It's highlighting all of our vendors. And if you're especially looking for crabs, because it is the world famous blue crab festival, any booth that is selling crabs or a crab product like a crab cake or she crab soup or live fresh steam crabs will be indicated on the map with a little crab icon. So it'll be easy to find. We have a new VIP experience that you can still get in. I think we have a few tickets left where you can sit up there by the main stage and have catered um food and adult beverages. Um, it's a little extra, but it's worth it. Our kids zone will be available all day for the kiddos to play in, and that is free of charge. And um we're just ready and excited for everybody to come in and see us. If you're not a seafood lover, of course, you know, we'll have all your festival food favorites. So we're ready.
SPEAKER_01All right, so where would you like people to go? Because um I I know that you have the world famous Blue Crab Festival Facebook page, you have a website. Some people worry about oh parking, how difficult that is going to be. So explain the parking, ways to get there, all about the golf carts that bring you all over.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so we have satellite parking. You know, the Little River waterfront is pretty compact, so it's we we don't allow cars into the festival area. We actually block the streets and line them with vendors, but we do have off-site satellite parking. One is on Highway 17, and right as you come into Little River, it's near the Big Willard's fireworks. It's pretty well marked, it's a huge field, and we have motor coach shuttle buses that will pick you up and bring you right to the main gate. We do have a new addition for handicapped and disabled people at the United Bank on the corner of Baker Street and Highway 17. There is an ADA accessible van that'll be running shuttles back and forth all day. Again, this is free of charge. And if you're coming in from the north area, at the Bruns, the South Brunswick branch of the Brunswick County Library is also parking as with the free motorcoach shuttle. And you can go to Grand Harbor Marina, which is off of Highway 90, and uh take the Sea Screamer water taxi in. You get a beautiful ride on the waterway. The uh taxi fare includes admission to the festival, and they'll be going back and forth on the half hour all day, both days. And everything is on our website, which is blue crabfestival.org. And extend your stay shows the entertainment, exact lineup, and what times. There is a parking tab. Just drop that down, it'll have a map showing where the the uh parking lots are. And come on, come out.
SPEAKER_0144th annual world famous blue crab festival is happening this weekend. You know, Jennifer, uh, I know you know you've been doing this a long time. A lot of locals are, you know, they go to it, uh, but it's like a rite of passage for people who have just moved here. It's like, what? You have you don't know what the blue crab festival? There are a lot of people that, you know, haven't been together. I've never been.
SPEAKER_00And you know what? There's a lot of people that have moved in, but they've never been to Little River. So what a great opportunity to come up to the festival and check it out. And we know you'll come back another day to play and eat at our fine restaurants, utilize our wonderful intercoastal waterway waterfront, um, for a dolphin ri uh dolphin cruise, or go out on the big M casino boat or rent a jet ski and just frolic about. Uh, we have all kinds of things up there, charter fishing. So come out for the festival, see it, and then come on back another day.

SPEAKER_00O dot org. O R G, that's correct. All right, and it has everything you need to know. You can buy your tickets in advance. You know, we do um charge a small admission fee, so we can provide all that free parking, free shuttle buses, uh kids play free all day. So that kind of helps to offset our infrastructure. We have police on site for safety, and we have to pay for all of this. So help us out. Come on out, enjoy the fun. But where can you get all of that for such a low ticket price? Yes, and what is the ticket price? Ten dollars. Children under twelve are free. All right, a little bit more to ride the water taxi, but it's all included.
